i was to lazy to read the thread i know this is from last year but did anyone find out who they were or if there from NS?
 
Im happy for the kids who's parents can just shell out a few grands for a week of skiing i would love to have that spot. Even if i could go however i feel i would be surrounded by a bunch of stuck up kids who don't have to much respect.
 
How old are all you people complaining that you can't go because your not rich? First of all if you can even afford to ski in the winter then you are not poor. Just get a job and pay for camp yourself, I have enough money to go if I wanted to, but I just think $2500 is pretty expensive for 1 week of skiing. Though I guess if you are younger than 14 thats kind of hard to do.
 
Wow I can't believe this was brought up again. The campers were caught, sent home, and are not permitted back at camp unless we receive a letter from WB stating they are welcome back.
Some kids do stupid stuff, some kids don't. These two did, were caught, got sent home, and have to live with the repercussions of their actions.
 
I wish I had the chance to live like that, I would sleep on floors and eat ramen all year round if it involved skiing that much
 
haha i agree with you that these kids are pieces of shit but i dont see why you gotta make this a rich poor thing. theres poor kids who are just as lame as these kids. im rich and i would love to smack the shit outof some kids that pissed in a gondola
 
Every whis local hates on COC becuase its full of rich kids.

It pisses me off having to watch kids ski out of camp while im riding public.
 
We actually have a lot of support among locals here in Whistler. Many locals volunteer at camp in exchange for park acess. We also have year round partnerships and relatiosnhips with a lot of businesses in Whistler who support us year round, and we offer their staff park access in exchange.
So we actually do a lot and work hard to offer locals the opportunity to experience our park. For those who don't get to ride our park, I'm sure they're a little jealous of those who do, and that may manifest itself in to a little hate.
In regards to being full of rich kids, we have a lot of campers who work their butts off and save like there is no tomorrow to come to camp, and parents who do the same so they can send their kid to camp.
 
Even though I rarely ski powder, I'd have to agree with you. If it was a choice between riding slushy park for 5 days, or shredding chest deep pow for 10, there's really no contest
 
As much as I agree with the whole rich kid thing and the camps, just getting to go, I'm saving up to go to one of the camps next summer, and It kinda pisses me off that I'll get thrown into that stereotype with the rest, when I'm actually gonna work for it.
 
Kid 1: Dude, so stoked to ride this amazing park today, in a beautiful part of the world, with great coaches, and perfect features.

Kid 2: Fuck that, let's fuck the gondola up

Kid 1: That sounds like a much better idea.

I really can't understand the mindset that would lead someone to do that

Stoked you're saving to go to a camp. Once you're at camp you'll find that many of the campers are in the same boat as you, worked hard and saved to get there. It's really not that hard to save, but it does take time and a commitment to achieving your goal to make it happen.
 
coc kids are dicks i was just at momentum and there always trying to out do us and make fun of us and shit.
 
SO TRUE. I just go tback from momentum session 2, and yes alot of the kids there were total brats who are there only because of their parents. HOWEVER its not fair to generalize all of the kids there as rich lil punks. I, along with many others, worked at minimum wage for the last year to make the 2000 dollars i needed to get to summer camp. Seeing Kids that had to do no work to get there, and didnt appreciate it made me really annoyed, but there were lots of awsome people there who really understood what an oppurtunity it was.
 
Yeah its shitty that people with a work ethic and worked for their money get to reap the benefits like sending your kid to a dope ski camp. I think people who get lots of money shouldn't be able to use it. What ever happened to communism?

I think its just unfortunate that rich parents are often bad parents so their kids go to whistler to piss in gondolas
 
Ah, your totally right. Hence why im working 40 hours a week to get out to Windells in december...

That's the whole spirit of this site, and this sport, man. That one week of absolute heaven is worth all the work. Once you get to camp, it suddenly is all worth it.
 
i did the exact same thing last year and it was literally the best experience of my life everyones mad chill and it is the best park in the world. why would you not want to hit 80 foot tables in 70 degree weather
 
I know I am getting to the thread wayyyy late, but for anyone interested, 15 days at SASS is cheaper than any other camp out there. I would say I would match anyone elses price, but we are already lower. AND SASS includes the lodging. We have been taking as young as 14 year olds down to Argentina since 2004 and have been giving them the experience of their lives the entire time.
