Coaching at Windells

I'm leaving Friday for hood and want to know a bit more on how coaching works. I've heard you can request your coach but have no idea how or when to do that. I'd also like to know how they split up the groups. Does it go by age, by skill level, or both? Lastly I kinda want to know what kind of learning atmosphere the camp has. Is it a serious learn new tricks as much as possible kind of thing or more relaxed like do whatever the fuck you want situation. Help is much appreciated. Thanks
 
you can request your coach when you log on to the windells website. also the coaching vibe is really calm and id say its more of a do whatever the fuck you wanna do than it being super seriously structured around learning tricks. also the groups are arranged by skill level. at least what i observed
 
In the past they've tried to group kids based roughly off of skill level but when groups of friends come or other factors (like a girls group with a girl coach or something) come up they kind of go with it. The goal is to put the campers in an environment where they're going to have fun and be with kids that will push them at a safe speed. I was always told our priorities for campers are: 1. Safety 2. Fun 3. Progression. It really depends on what you want to get out of it. You can just session lightly with your crew or send it and ask your coach every run what you need to fix, its all up to you. I've had kids who don't try something new all session while other kids in the same group learn literally 5 or 6 new, big tricks. And I thought you request coaches when you sign up but if you haven't yet request me! I'm coaching next session!
 
to be honest i would really go there just to ski and shit. like i might ask for a few pointers but i just wanna ski. gunna save up this summer and hopefully go next year
 
yeah and not getting coached lots doesn't mean you don't want to push yourself, some people learn better doing their own thing and just want park and soft snow, or even just a camera on them so they can see for themselves what they need to fix. and thanks TWA for the deletion, didn't mean to dub post
