Coaches Corner with Turpin

Im sure there are lots of you on the brink of a new trick and just need a little reliable advise on how to do it. Well for you the people of ns im going to give you all the help I can. Kind of like a coaches corner.
I have 8 years coaching under my belt, on the glacier at camps like High North(rip) Camp Of Champs and Momentum plus Learning from the man Mark McDonnell the head coach in Blackcomb freestyle. Iv also coached a list of the top comp riders like Peter O, Colby West and Gus K for years. My methods are proven safe and reliable. When it comes to jumping Im your coach. Working at the camps iv seen it all.I have my level 2 air, level 2 park and pipe an level 2 tramp

thats pretty cool i joined.

I think it would be the best if kids posted videos of them doing the tricks they have problems with so that turpin could analyze them one on one.
 
this one time at ski camp... you told me to do something cool wakeboarding so i tried to do a raley and split my eyelid open. the end.

Ok for anyone whos been coached by turpin they def know this prolly isnt a good idea. Sure he gets to try things, but sometimes it is way outta their comfort level and they could have died. Example, he got some kid to try his first double off the 85 ft. step over at momentum. The kid was tryin kang flip and turpin was gettin him to do straight lincoln. It didnt go as planned, but turpin gets him to do it again. Second time even worse. Good coach...for some people.
 
Kid your stupid if anything hes only good at competing. He can do like everything both ways and huck the shit outta everything with kinda steeze. If thats not comp status than i dunno wat is, cuz style definitly isnt the key.
 
yo are an idoit i have been coached by turpin n for one day eith him i leardned a ton, hes an amazing coach and im pretty sure he knew what he was doing
 
have you ever met the kid i was coaching. not that i should even waist my time answering this. there are some kids who are going to do what ever they want. when kids like this come to me i feel i need to give them the best chance to live i can. ya that kid was not ready but he was going to do it any way he had big balls. so by me helping him at least he went home walking. most kids that have got hurt under my supervision were not paying attetion to instructions and being cocky.
 
Summer 07 at COC at the water ramps i was learning underflips and everytime i did it wrong, Turpin would turn on the bubble thing after I was in the water and it would shoot me the opposite way of the steps and I had to swim even farther. It pissed me off so much but at the same time it motivated me to do it right next time and hey... it worked. Turpin eventually had me stomping underflips on the water ramps and then on the snow! Anyways, Turpin is a legit coach and this is a sick and generous idea on his part.
 
sweet idea Turpin, and way to give back to the ski community. One thing though, since you went with "Coaches Corner" as the name for your project I propose you work with SMS to make you some one of a kind, where the fuck did they get that print suits to rock on the hill in honour of the great Don Cherry.
 
i wonder if don cherry would sue newschoolers... NHL is crazy protective with... well, anything and everything that has to do with the NHL. crazy buggers. it's alright though, i don't think the NHL is aware of any winter sport other than hockey, they don't know we exist.
 
Word Turp!!! Seriously you guys, join this thread. Turpin is the best coach in the sport, and he's still at the top of his game... unlike coaches who know how to do stuff, he CAN do it. He has helped me with more than anyone else. Hell yeah Turp, respect.
 
I hadn't really considered that (in no small part because I didn't really entertain the possibility of it happening) but I think like you said it would be cool cause the NHL has got their own thing going. SMS if you're reading this you have the power to make it happen and one of very few people who could pull it off in Turpin, get to work. I for one will show my support by continuing to wear my rediculous formerly white but now decidedly off white analog "skiers in gay poses" print suit.
 
ok I think the time has come to point out that I have been all but completely joking all along other than the part where I congratulated Turpin for giving back to the ski community. In no way did I ever seriously consider the potential legal implications of what I was suggesting (even though those implications would be virtually impossible to take legal course upon unless Cherry owns the rights to every concievable print that is widely deemed to be rediculous) for the simple and obvious reason that SMS would be borderline retarded to take time and money and invest it in a project that at very best a small handfull of Canadians might find moderately amusing.
