I hate to be so much of a downer but I partially agree with you.
Not that awesome this year at all. '07 and '09 were miles better. BUT to each his own... this will suit a different crowd just fine.

coachella costs like 250 more than some of these.... you have to buy a like 310 GA pass and then 75 for parking?!?! + more fees and sheeeet. wtfffff

i got my bonnaroo ticket early bird for only 220... and snowball for 110, and waka is only like 180...

DOGGSSS SAVE YO MONIES. coachella would be fun no doubt... but i feel like the experience is way different

I think the general consensus is that they are the only thing saving the lineup. pretty much everybody I know who has gone multiple times agrees that this years lineup is fucking weak and the only band that anybody is really stoked on is DFA. I really hope they announce a tour so that I can sell the coachella ticket and see them in a more desirable venue.

also, they really de-emphasized electronic music a bunch, which is a letdown.
 
Yeah man no doubt it is way too expensive and super corporate. I volunteered last year and got a free ticket, plus actually made some money (Not gonna talk about how.) It is a good way to go if you don't wanna pay. It's not for the faint of heart though. I didn't sleep for the first two days because of my volunteer responsibilities.

And yeah it is a way different experience than a smaller hippy festival. i went to sonic bloom last year too. Its a good crowd though. Everyone is on so much E they are friendly no matter if they are huge dicks in real life hah

The production value at Coachella is nothing short of stunning. They are VERY VERY good at what they do. Not as big a fan of the corporate vibe, but the dope ass indie as well as world famous electronic acts makes it all worth it.

I mean there is no other sick indie festival that I know of. Lolla doesn't have camping (I think?) and mile high music festival is pretty dumb. Sasquatch is like Coachella Jr. its like the same lineup minus like half.

But even then the fact that you could have seen so much of that lineup down the bill farther at other festivals. Not even needing to get into the argument of what music I like.
