Coachella 2013

damn dude, you are a hero. a true drug expert.

i always laugh when kids boost about all the "molly" they did or are going to do at a festival. who the fuck cares.

Seriously, although I'm aware the Stone Roses didn't break America. Check them out. Really. Do it. The US really missed out on music in the 90's.

i just bought my weekend 2 pass! so fucking pumped but it was a bitch to get the tickets. how the shit do people get presale??

It was such a bitch I made it all the way to the confirm screen at like 10:04and it failed I had to redo it took like 30 minutes of palm sweating haha

i was trying to do it on my computer in the middle of my chemistry lab this morning and was freaking out at the standby screen for a good 15 minutes

it was a stressful sports nutrition class for me. Hit refresh at the exact second they opened today... failed a good 20 times to make it the whole way through... took about 45 min. I think what helped eventually was using 4 browsers at the same time to wait in line... certainly helped my odds of getting by.

Dear lord, what I would have given to go in 1969.

The Doors, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd. Arguably the three greatest bands of all time.

Hendrix/BB King some of the greatest guitar players of all time

James Brown, at least my favorite soul/funk artist.

And then there's The Who, the Stones, Bob Dylan, Miles David and a buttload of other great artists.

That must've been the greatest festival of all time...

Nope. Just an extreme hate for RHCP. There aren't many more bands that I hate to the same degree.

No one ever questions my taste besides my hate for RHCP. That goddam lead singer is the most annoying voice in music. Lyrically RHCP is adequate at best, all they ever sing about is california and other stupid crap. Flea is a good bassist but looks like an idiot. I hate their costumes and look, just everything about the band bothers me.

I don't think I enjoy drugs enough to justify spending over $300 to see the two bands I am actually interested in.

I had a lot of friends go; they said it was amazing.

Other than it feeling WAY more crowded than last year and some gnarly wind/dust storm action on Sunday, Wknd 1 was so damn fun. Hot Chip mainstage at sunset was a real treasure, those dudes PARTY!

interesting, i actually noticed this year just how limited coachella really is in terms of the amount of people that are there. only time it got bad was getting in on the first day when everybody rushed the gates and started pushing over security guards, which was actually pretty tight

I've got a good friend out there holdin' down the green lakeside teepee on the end if you have extra drugs or want to see someone drink a gallon of booze haha

no shirtcock tho, keep it clean bros haha

In more gossipy Coachella Newschoolers news, Matt Walker is out there for Weekend 2, keep your eyes peeled for him and all other Shaun White's or Shaun White look alikes.

found a couple NS'ers out there; honestly don't remember anyones username/real names but i did have an absolute blast camping with K_M.

also in other news Coachella was probably the most fun weekend of my life.....and that's saying something considering i got my ID, phone, frogskins, debit card, cash and my favorite girl all stolen from me during RHCP....haha EVERYONE FROM NS NEEDS TO COME NEXT YEAR.

not saying they were the best band there (so many to really pick favorites).... but ....

MAJOR LAZER was so damn fun week 2! anyone else catch them?

Eh, I want to talk more about my awesome fuckin weekend!

What were peoples favorites?

Alt-J : not a band Ive know that well, but its fun to hear an up-and-comer so talented

Jurassic 5: such an epic comeback, they're the reason I went across the country and made it worth it

Major Lazer: Fun samples + Dancehall + electronic = success

Theophilus London: such a fun (even disco-y) take on hip hop when hes live

Kids These Days: the roots are going to have to watch out for these kids

Tame Impala: so chill

got there late on friday... missed alt-j, passion pit, and of monsters and men, but what can you do?

i fucking loved the yeah yeah yeahs, the postal service, two door cinema club, modest mouse, phoenix!!!!!, adrian lux, the airborne toxic event, grimes, pretty lights, wu tang, rhcp

definitely going to save up for next year.

They killed it. The first time I really gave them a listen was at a festival a couple years ago and was stoked on them ever since. They always put on such a fun and poppy show
