In a little over an hour, Chris Hadfield, along with Commander Roman Romanenko and Flight Engineer Tom Marshburn are about to disembark the Space Station after 146 days in space.

Don't know if you've been following his Tweets, but hes been posting some awesome photos over his time up there. This was his final one, a new day dawning.

Huge respect to him, hes such a badass dude.

and he can sing!

Very proud of him. Next to Armstrong and maybe Aldrin he's probably the most known astronaut now. He really is inspiring a whole new generation.

My dads best friend from HS Andy Fuestal did repairs on the ISS a year or two ago. But yeah those dudes are the shit. Huge props to them.

Definitely the most well known modern astronaut. Did wonderful things to publicize the ISS. loved seeing his pictures on twitter.

hopefully another astronaut can step up and dominate social media like he has. The space program needs it

with that attitude yeah,

fuck you

grow up

change your mindset

That'd be so suck to live, dying must be so depressing.

That'd be so suck to ski, walking must be so depressing.

Enjoy the shit you do as you do it.

he's a pretty good dude too. i had the pleasure of meeting him when my father worked at the canadian space agency years ago. he was a part of a project that had something to do with flight simulators for the astronauts of which my dad had a chance to train guys like bob thirsk and chris hadfield (claim) so i've met a lot of them and even played with that simulator too (double claim)

moral of the story, these kind of things are a little extra special for me because of the personal connection to it, and i've been to a few of the shuttle launches too. it's really cool stuff. space is fucking epic.

i feel like it would be one way to permanently change your perspective of life, and I think it would be for the good. seeing earth from space for 5 months would kinda make you realize that the little things that bother you every day are nothing, ya know?

I was friends with Bob Thirsk's son in elementary school and he came in a few times to talk to the class about space and stuff. was really cool.

glad they made it back with no problems.

I'm actually quite sad about his coming back. I really enjoyed checking out his tweets. Loved seeing his pictures from across the planet...all in the course of a few hours.

Really hoping some new astronaut can absolutely kill it on twitter like Hadfield. Making spaceflight information that little bit more accessible can make a huge difference.

when you think about it, it becomes even crazier. We have astronauts live tweeting about living in space, and a car sized robot tweeting pictures of mars.

The internet is a wonderful thing, all those amazing images being shared to millions of people that 20 years ago barely saw circulation.

I would love to be an astronaut. Imagine what it would be like getting a hair cut, your hair would go every where

As Felix Baumgartner said, "Sometimes you have to be really high to see how small you really are" pretty much sums it up. He said that just as he was falling off of his capsule, pretty crazy.

Space is absolutely fascinating, and I would love everything about being an astronaut if it didn't require piloting!

Saw a funny Toronto Maple Leafs fan's facebook status :

"Go back to space Hadfield. It's all your fault."

Thought it was hilarious

even after return he's still a fascinating account to follow. Posting about the return to Earth and gravity etc is really interesting.

It must be mindblowing to get out of the capsule on Earth and look up at the sky. Like a "holy shit...I just came from up there"

Also says he has a few thousand more pictures from space to share! Best Canadian ever

Chris Hadfield is an amazing man. His goal is to promote science and technology to explore our surroundings.

Its hilarious that the conservative government cut funding to the Canadian Space agency become it does not bring it enough money.
