Cloverfield *MAY CONTAIN SPOILRS*

I got sick as shit cuz I was in the first row, but I know the begining was a bit bland, but I htink that was to set the regular mood and what is going on between these people. Whoever said he is just sweating some pussy, sounds like a pussy. Its true, some people do care about other people, not just themselves. I know its weird. I didn't find the need to know where it came from, I felt like I just got offf work, went to a little party and BOOM, things are going crazy and getting fucked up, when shit happens no one tels you a story and straightens you out, you have to deal with it. Much like the movie portrayed. Some things were a litttle sketch, but 300, Swordfish, Matrix etc. all have the same thing in them. Truth is they all would have probably been so weak from dust inhalation they wouldn't have been able to run period. But it was an awesome concept and put you right there. I really liked.

DO NOT READ IF YOU DIDNT SEE THE MOVIE!!!

ok, does anyone remember the end when rob's talking to the camera?

thinking back on it, for some reason i recall him saying the date being May 23rd.

anybody remember this, or am i just crazy?

what the hell you guys actualy did not like it? i have to agree with matt man. it was one of the best ive seen... the whole point of the movie not not giving away too much information... personally i really liked it.. The fack that it did not have background music added to the atmosphere and made it surreal. sorta like in I am Legend.. it was def a good movie supposed you guys liked something like 300 wich was horrible, more?

i saw it with my dad, and i agree it was a good movie, and it was quite funny jack nicklaus and morgan freeman did an amazing job acting

because this thing started on 1-18-08.

if at the end he says the date is may 23rd, there's missing parts....

see what im saying?

sequel....

i'ma kill a bitch if they try to make a sequel, leave it be it's fine the way it is. making a sequel to a good movie is like working really hard on a great painting, and then taking a shit on it. a sequel to a bad movie is like taking a nice shit, and then taking another shit on it.

after failing to think of a good way to continue the shit-analogies, i'm just going to say that it depends on the person watching it. i liked how the movie was done where you know only as much as the characters know, so it is as if you are part of the movie. kind of like the way children of men was done. others may not like it because they want to know all the parts of the stories. also consider maybe they can't think of a good way to explain it and just resorted to keeping it like this, that's kind of like shitting your pants and trying to hide it from everyone else (zing!)

i dont remember it saying it started on 1-18-08....i think thats just the day it came to theathers.... plus if it WAS january, wouldnt there be snow and it would be cold in NYC?

MAJOR SPOILER BELOW

theres no way in hell that they survived that bomb, if it was may 23 then it would obviously be from the year before. and yes, they are attatcked on 1-18-08, even go to the cloverfield website, http://www.1-18-08.com and it shows several pictures, some taken on the night of, and it says like 12:30 am 1/18/08.

and anyone catch that "17 years" by ratatat was playing during the party?

nah brah, listen...

im saying before that bomb hit when he's like "My name is Rob something or other, and something attacked the city..."

i could swear he said the date was May 23.

what im saying is, maybe one of the times it cuts to the old film, there's like a big huge gap in time, or something like that, or just a lot of film missing.

thats all im saying.

im with you on saying they didnt survive that bomb, but thats not what i was trying to say.

the shot at the end is from the same day that the rest of the rob/beth footage is, which is ~ a month before the monster attack. january 18 was just the release date of the movie.

i thought the ending was really good. for people who didnt think so, you obviously didnt get the foreshadowing when he says "you got 10 seconds to say something," or whatever. i thought the whole movie was incredible, cept for the afformentioned impaled girl and helicopter crash. im going to go see it again. i gotta catch that very end again...good movie.

well duh, with the first part.

and the second part you're wrong.

go to www.1-18-08.com

there's pictures of stuff happening from the movie, and they have the date on them, 1-18-08.

What is the significance of the date and times?

Morning of Rob and Beth's Date: 04\27\2007 - 6:42AM

Afternoon of Rob's Party: 05\22\2007 - 6:42PM (18:42 Zulu)

Morning After Rob's Party: 05\23\2007 - 6:42AM

Afternoon of Rob and Beth's Date: 04\27\2007 - 6:17PM (18:17)

Also

this is probably way too much speculation right here, but I divided the

number 4 (April = 4, the month the tape began) by the number 27 (the

number of days after the tape began to the day it “ended”) and the sum

is 6.75. 6.75 translated into time rounds to 6:45 which is close to????

6:42??? I don’t know, maybe I’m just shooting in the dark… I just think

it’s weird… What do you think?

nah, the party/monster night was in may. check the guy's post a few up from here, he's got it right.

uhhh, retard? ya hi, the date the movie begins is may 22. check wikipedia. have you ever been to NYC? its fucking freezing there in january.

helecopter crash should have been the ending of the movie... but other then that the movie was a great idea

oh and that chick that EVERYONE went back to save and died for was stupid. that guy was trying to get some ass and it didn't even work out for him in the end cuz he was killed with her... stupid mistake

my few thoughts about the movie

1) i really liked it despite all the negative things mentioned before

2) i really wish i could have been in the movie because i like to yell and run around

3) i wish they just rated it 'R' so they could've cursed more and had more like blood and stuff.

i'm not a huge fan of blood and gore, but i think seeing more people in the street and hospital thing really badly hurt would make it even more realistic. and there were many times i thought more cursing would be in order, but w/e i still enjoyed it a lot.

i made the mistake (?) of being very high when i saw this movie and missed out on the whole immerion effect. and if this film isnt the great thriller people say it is, its definitely a solid comedy. the noises the subway monsters/parasites made? the cameraphones? subtle things, but hilarious nonetheless

your the retard. when was the last time there was no snow and it was not cold in NYC in january? they say in he movie its may. so piss off dumb ass

i saw it last night

i think the concept of the movie was great

but the whole handy cam and the ending really turned me off. i also went to the bathroom so if someone could awnser me this...did the guy that was going to japan(forgot his name) did he die with beth or was it that blackish chick?

yo fuckmonkeys dayum, if you move the mouse back and forth fast on the pics they flip over and a couple have messages on them. and one i think is ingredients for something but its in japanese. so if someone knows japanese try to figure it out

ok, this movie was a big waste of 10$ ever. Its like I payed to listen a boring teacher. This is why:

-Dumbest plot ever thought up, even a 6 year old boy can make up something like that while playing with his toy soldiers

-cheap remake of godzilla

-1h30mins of "Oh my God!" and "What is that!"

-20 mins of worst intro

-camera shakier that the blair witch project

-No explanations about what the hell is happening

-So little action and emotional sections, all it is is poor acting and annoying panic

-Cheapest ending ever thought up

Personally, I thought it was an awesome movie. It is made for a certain type of audience though, ofcourse everyone's not going to like it.

I thought the way they did it was awesome; HandyCam, not letting you in on what's happening and the ending. It did really make it incredibly realistic, it definitely gave you a sense of being there. You can't really casually watch the movie, you have to be intrested in it.

Im sorta double sided on the thought that they should make a sequel, or even a movie showing a different aspect of it. It could be awesome.....or it could just ruin it and suck completely.

But im really considering going to see it again, which i've never done with a movie.

Oh yeh, and the chick blowing up....intense.

Bump because it's on FX right now for those that liked it. I loved it. I liked that home movie vibe to it.
