CLOVERFIELD 1-18-08

rottentomatoes is giving it 74%, which is unheard of for a movie like this. i really hope it doesn't disappoint, i've been looking forward to this since summer.

i dont know..it looked kinda predictable and typical scifi ish, but ill prob end up seeing it, but def not tongiht

I kinda want to see it simply because I have no idea what is going on other than the destruction of New York City filmed by its' residents. GREAT marketing for the film in my opinion... it could suck beyond belief but as long as people go to see it once just to see what its all about, I'm sure that's fine with them. But it seems pretty interesting...

Cloverfield was fucking amazing.

best monster movie ever made.

oh yeah, it's not a giant lobster or a squid or godzilla or even mecca godzilla.

this is a new monster, and it has super sketchy friends.

gahh i'm so freaked out right now dude.

baking+monster¿movieing?=freakoutsandmunchies.

why didnt i take a picture of it?

shit.

i shoulda been a badass and put this thread under ski discussion, although it has nothing to do with it, just so it will get more response.

noob.

i, for once, am not mad at all that i spent 10$. the movie was ingenious, i cant even describe it. so amazing.

pretty cool movie, but dammit the filming made me so nauseous. Word of advice: don't go see it drunk, you'll puke.

I definitely liked it a lot. Really well done. The taped over footage was a clever touch that definitely added to the subplot development

fuck ye man... it was a good movie got interesting once they past the stupid party thing.. and yea do no go if your drunk or if your hungover... i was about to barf into my cup it made me so nauseous. In mtl at the premier, about 30-40 ppl walked out because of that.

ya i think the filming and all that was awesome, but wasnt thrilled about some parts of it really... maybe because it was just different, like when that lady implodes in the mall or w.e kinda didnt really get anything out of that, like whaa just happend? i dunno, and the ending was a bit sketch as well, shouldnt give it away but didnt really make sense.

I dunno man I thought it was a pretty dope ending. It wrapped things up pretty well while still being abrupt, as was the style of the movie

the ladys EXplodes not implodes. and the movies is supposed to be like that. it always leaves you wanting to know what happened because you are only seeing as much as the people experiencing the event. im sure that you were even thinking the same thing as Hud at that time, or something very similar.

By the time the party was over I felt sick. I just closed my eyes and listened unless I thought they were about to show something cool.

The sound was good, but not worth $10.

I work at a movie theatre so I see all the movies that come out...and Cloverfield is not a good movie. Camera style was different, but I thought that that was just weird...acting was terrible...ending was shitty, and they are gonna make a second one too(at the end of the crecdits there is static that says 'its still alive)...The only good thing was that the monster was pretty cool.

you work at a movie theater so you somehow become some authority on films? I think the makers of Cloverfield probably know more about movies than you and they would probably say its a good movie...so why don't you not state your opinion (and one that is in the minority, mind you) as if it is fact.

Of course the makers of ti are gonna say its a good movie....

but i saw this movie tonight and..... meh

it was alright, but nothin special. The party sucked, the filming was shitty at times, and some of the acting was pretty bad.

on the other hand the filming was good during fight/battle scenes, i liked how it was pretty mysterious, and i like how there were some funny parts in the midst of all the intensity.

sidenote: about 20 minutes into the movie some dude stood up and walked out screaming FUCK THIS MOVIE IT FUCKIN SUCKS. ya i thought that was pretty funny

you are right, just because I work at a movie theatre doesn't meen I have the best taste in movies, but I see EVERY movie that comes out because I have to review them. And I really don't think this is any good. I am not saying listen to me because I am right, I just don't think it is worth seeing. Read critics reviews too, noone thought it was anything special.

it was a different movie coming out in a mixture of repeatative will ferrel movies and horrible plotless romantic comedies.

there was no message to this movie,

it was, however, very entertaining.

the ending wasn't stupid, it was practical.

I am tired of seeing every movie with the monster being blown up in a barrage of missiles courtesy of the US army, with the main characters somehow dodging death, finding themselves, and falling in love in the last 20 minutes.

I really liked it. In fact, I stayed in the theater and watched it a second time in a row...Awesome movie yo!

I don't really get why some people say that the camera "makes them sick" it's not that bad. The ending was pretty annoying though.
