Cloudy Days | Timelapse

So I wanted to make a more organised edit with a theme and some continuity. So I went for an old timelapse favourite....clouds. I hope you think there is some good variety to it and once again all the pictures were taken from within the confines of my own home.

Please give me your feedback on what you thought and what I could improve on and what I could do differently. Especially on transitions and cuts as i'm not so sure as to what looks the best. Here it is:

I think all of the clips were done on intervals between 3-6 seconds. I varies the time on how fast the clouds were moving

so sick, love cloud timelapses, some of those shots we awesome, great movement and nice colours.

can you tell me how exactly you did this? and song name?

The song is Fleet Foxes - Mykonos.

I started of by setting the camera up with a 3rd party remote timer. Then set the interval on the timer to usually between 3-6 seconds, then set it to take around 300 photos. Once that was done I copies the photos on to my laptop, put them all into lightroom and edited them until I was happy with the image. Then I synchronised the settings so that they were all the same settings. The clicked 'save metadata to files' and opens LRtimelapse where i deflickered the images. Then saved that and went back into lighroom, clicked on 'read metadata from files' then exported the images to a folder I had created for them. Once it had finished exporting I opened up quicktime player 7 and clicked on open image sequence, select the files and chose the frame rate I wanted and then exported that using the Apple ProRes 422 codec. Then brought it into final cut, edited it, exported again and then compressed the file ready for upload.

Hope this makes a little sense!

Thanks, I didnt use a track actually, although I would love one of those motorised timelapse dollies. All the movement was done in post.

As far as I'm concerned, all of your cuts were pretty much spot on. They were all timed well, and especially for a video like this that is more about showcasing the footage itself, hard cuts and crossfades are all you need. Great song choice and all of those shots were amazing too. And you did a good job with the dolly effects in post, none of them looked very fake. Overall very impressive short. I watched it twice.

thanks man, gonna have to try this out sometime this summer when i get time. just getting into photography and filming so trying to learn as much as possible

Ive only really got into filming and photography recently as well, timelapses are fairly easy and can look really good, I just watched a load of tutorials.
