Clothing you wear

Why do you guys buy the clothing you wear? is it because you like the graphic that's on it, because of the name? the material? etc... My friend is looking into starting a t-shirt company and I wanted to get some opinions from here for him.

any input would be appreciated

1. Design

2. price - no way i'll ever pay 50 dollars for a tshirt

3. background of company - usually i buy ski t's so know my money is going to a good place. but if i buy a more underground label i like to know the startup and what they stand for

Design is most important. I pretty much buy shirts based on design. Color is also important. I hate bright colored shirts.

Name (as in the company) doesn't mean shit. I'm not gunna buy a shirt because its made by a certain company thats considered 'cool'. However he should make sure whatever name he picks for his clothing company is cool and easily pronounced.

Material doesn't mean shit. I hate those stretchy shirts or ones that are tight. I just want a regular material shirt.

Cost is important within reason. I'm not gunna spend ridiculous money on a t-shirt but also im not gunna buy a t shirt I don't like cause its cheap. A normal price or a few dollars cheaper is perfect.

1. type...i'm 5'11" with a long torso and no boobs so ya. hehe.

2. style...i'm skater/chic

3. brand...so oakley, fox, roxy, volcom, etc. then chanel, dolce&gabbana, coach, bebe, etc.

XXL+ tee shirts, mostly Oakley and other underground brands, and stuff from DRjays,

hoodies in 4XL from DJjays

Evisu shoes

cargo shorts

haven't worn jeans in like 3 years but I guess I'll get some this year to fit everything else I wear. Unfortunately I won't bet getting Evisu jeans....they start at around $350 and go to about $800.....and that is just fucking redic, I'll leave those for Young Jeezy.

damn, I need some more valium, guess oxycodone will have to do for now......wisdom teeth.

What I wear man? Easy question. Six clothing is what I wear everyday! haha, you know what I mean! It's got the style, it's real comfy and it's even good to do sports in because of the 50/50 ultra blend textiles.

I like brands like

Supreme

PAM

EDWIN

Stussy

Streetwear stuff is cool, nice designs and comfy.

Fuck, sorry I kinda missed the point of this thread, I'm kinda high from soem shit after getting my teeth out..

anyway

comfort is a must, but that usually jsut means that it should be XL at

least. Cool designs are a must, all over print can be cool. Logos are

always good, and a great way to get your name out there. As far as material cotton is usually fine, it's cheap and lasts a good amount of time. Oakey seems to have really soft cotton on some of their shirts. Hanes generally has not so great quality......

look at some of the stuff on abstract mall or some of i8vans work. they both have alot of stuff that combines style and comfort. im definately into that.

so be original, but not just completely fuckign weird, I mean not to hate but those "fupa" tees were just fucking rediculously stupid.

suhaani

haha oops, my mom told me to write that down, was the password for a computer my brother just got, was used and I didn't have a pen so I wrote it down on my post but forgot to delete. haha oops.

So price is being thrown around alot here, and I figured it would be, what is a price you feel comfortable paying for a t-shirt? I agree with anyone who said 50 bucks is to much for a shirt, that's ridiculous. I saw a t-shirt at Saks one day that was 180.00, couldn't believe it

^^haha

yeah

it's important that it is comfortable, cool-looking, well-priced, and most importantly, original

i hate having the same shirt as someone else

you want to sell me a shirt? show me one that makes me go.."damn..that is fly. i bet not alot of people have that shirt"

EX-Teacher. I hated that shit!! So I quit.

Infected? Lol uh I think you've been BSed my friend. How would smoke-- A sterile substance, infect a sealed gum? Smoke, and more specifically ash, makes lye, which is the main ingredient in making soap. It's clean, and its a super base. Therefore smoke=sterile=Iwannasmokeabowl after!

usually design and price-i never buy ski t's cause i have to get them online and dont wanna pay extra for shipping

My advice would be to the time to make every shirt/whatever look really nice. Pick a style and have all your products with the same style. Don't worry about the price because when somebody sees a new company, they'll buy if they feel that they themselves need to accept the company not the other way around. So if you're selling everything at a ridiculously low price then your company may seem desperate and uncool.

For me though, I like a brand if it has style, if it has that then I would be willing to pay a little more than I usually would for their clothes.

I'd hate teaching to haha. I don't think I've been BS'd, I can't remember the explanation but it seemed plausible. Maybe it was just cigs though, but I can't remember.
