Closing of snoqualmie

I believe it. Sucks when you get so much snow at the end of the season, there's enough to stay open for many weeks, but people stop going up so its no longer profitable for the mountain.

What? If everywhere else is closing, won't Snoqualmie have a bigger market. I know that a large amount of people will lose interest, but won't there be a big enough group of skiers in Western Washington to keep just Snoqualmie or even just Alpental open?

Do you really think people (i.e. passholders) that ski at the other mountains are now going to want to pay the money for a day ticket to ski snoqualmie? Don't get me wrong, I'll defend snoqualmie to my death bed as a great mountain... but with the given snow conditions, the only thing worth a damn is the park, and most people don't ski park. So no, sadly it doesn't really give snoqualmie a bigger market... the only people that still want to go up to Snoqualmie are the hardcore skiers, and they all have passes to snoqualmie already (aren't making the mountain money at this point)

Nope, you're wrong, if you were at alpy all last May you'd know this, not saying they're making a ton of money, but way more people do come up and buy tickets. Plus it takes 12 people to run alpy (opposed to Central's 35 or so) so yea, they will pay more money to ski, because thats what people do.

I hope it stays open, but might redirect my efforts to Hood if not. Or we can just start hiking, which will be fun anyway.

I forked out a ton of money last spring so I could ski alpy, probably should have just bought a season pass. This spring will be much shorter though, and I dont have the money for lift tickets this year so ill probably just go hiking~

it says on their website that cinco de mayo is the last day

is it just me, or were we skiing until june last year in the park? :(

i'll see anyone who's going up to alpy this sunday, just shout some shit about chad's gap in the liftline and i'll know its you.

they always say they are closing, then manage to stay open like two more weekends... i hope thats the same this year!!

Alpental will be open for Cinco De Mayo with $5 lift tickets.

Look for me on Bacons in the PedoBear costume and Tall T's....

yes!

hopefully the rain holds off..the forecast right now isn't looking too good, but we'll have to see i guess. rain or shine-$5 can't be beat! I just hope it's not too wet

I see you ski White. Pretty sick pictures you got. You from Naches or something? Looks like you get some good snow where you live too.

yea, i love white. thanks! no, i'm not from naches--actually some of those pictures are from a hike in january last year out in the olympics...i really wanna do some hiking up there early this summer--i'm not sure how much snow they still have cuz i'm still at school in southern michigan. Heading back in 5 days though!! I live in puyallup, but my girl lives in yakima so i go back and forth quite a bit..naches is sick though-you ski stevens? how much snow do they have still?
