Closing Dates?

There's hella snow up in tahoe but I heard that a lot of the resorts close around May 1st because of some insurance or license issues? is this true? i always thought as long as there is snow they would stay open.

Does anyone know specific closing dates to all the differnt mtns? esp. Alpine, Squaw, N* (essentially everyhing on north).

N* will close next sunday (the 17th i think)...they always do.

alpine will be open until mid may

squaw im not sure

 
i talked to one someone at alpine, and they said they would start spring hours soon, at then end of april most lifts would close, but at least summit would stay open, the park will be open, but not the lift, and she didnt' know wether they would be grooming it everyday or not? which sucks, they need to keep kangaroo open till the snows gone

 
^^ nah, kwood is bein stoopid and closing all weekday operations at least on may 1st. it's my bet that they will run weekends, but even that is doubtful. the park is nice. they did nock the pipe over , but they built a good jump line and a quarter pipe.

sweet...last year i went in may and they had a bomb park up with some monster hits and a 1/4 pipe. i love kwood. but they better be open hella late

 
alpine should be open untill late may atleast, squaw till the end of may.

heavenly and kirkwood close end of april.

kirkwood normally say that they will be open on weekends till end of may but it normally doesn't last.

I'm really fucking pissed that sierra and northstar are closing so early with so much snow still left. but oh well you can buy a spring pass to alpine thats good untill closing day for 99 bucks. It's worth it, i bought it last year.

 
last year kwood was open weekends till round the middle of may and this year they have even more snow. we gotta hike when places close...

 
that's dumb that everyone's closein up cause they don't get much business due to the fact that now the only people who relly go are the ones with season passes. i think resorts should stay open as long as possible. I heard mammoth is tryin to stay open even during the summer this year.

it makes me so depressed when they all close. its like, projecting doom unto us. seeing a stopped lift on a hill during the summer is torture. pain. why must the snow melt? why?

kwood is not doing weeknds past the 1st of may this year, they loose money, and sierra is done this monday - but its only 20 bucks last day

 
Alpines site says May 22, kinda sux considerin they could easilly last into june...even into july if they wanted.

I was thinkin in July you could upload summit 6, ski alpine bowl chair all day, and download summit at the end of the day. Alpine bowl gets hit hard every storm that snow sticks forever in there and there is even a decent area for a park.

the alpine park crew said that they might be closing the park may 2nd or so. how stupid is that? write e-mails and complain. ... now!

i heard they are closing the park chair but features will still be there - may 22nd is still a good seaon, thats like 8 months of being open

^that's good but if they close the fucking park may 2nd that's fucking bullshit. That means fucking park riding is pretty much over because until then it's supposed to snow the whole fucking time

They should just build a rope tow that goes all the way to to the top of the mountain, or from base to like a park run and just run that. That wouldn't cost too much, would it?
