Closest to beach and surf but close to skiing.

I bet it's been asked before but I can't find it....

Wheres the ideal location to be near/on the beach but still a short drive to the mountain....which beach/costal areas are the shortest drive time to the mountain basically?

anywhere east of LA. i live in pomona and in is 45 min. to a little over a hour to the beach depending on which one you are goinmg to and it is one hour from mt high and 1 and a half hours from big bear.

where live, fresno is an hour away from a resort and 2 from surfing central coast, but the skiing isn't anyhting like tahoe or mammoth, but its only 4 from tahoe and 6 from mammoth

If you live in the bay area you aren't too far from Tahoe-like 3 to 4 hours depending on where you want to go. If you really wanted you could surf in the morning and drive up in time for some late afternoon/night skiing. If you live in the Sac area you are about 2 hours away from both the beach and Tahoe.

It's all about FRESNO. 1 hour from skiing (4 to Tahoe) and 2 hours to surf. Couldn't be any better anywhere else!

I am 10 minutes from the beach and a 1.5 to ski at the closest.

That is tough to beat.

I live in Santa Monica. The restort is called Mountain High (www.mthigh.com)not the best mountain, but the park is pretty good and its better than a lot of the pics I have seen for other places.

30 minutes from ventura, 45 minutes from mountain high, 3 1/2 hours from mammoth.

4 miles from the beach. 15 minutes on bike, 5 in car.

mt high = 70 mi. hour to 45 minutes away

bear = 1.5 hours
