So I used to skate at my local YMCA skate park all the time as a kid. It has shrunk since then but still has some legit stuff and I was gonna go hit it up. So I call the YMCA and ask what the hours are and the woman tells me that it is only open when they have a skate camp, and then only to the people in the camp. So they have a skatepark sitting there all summer and it is only open for like 4 weeks and not to the public. So fucking stupid. /rant.
 
so fucking stupid, our skatepark situation in quebec is as pathetic but all over the place. we have a huge skate scene but no legit skateparks
 
I would but there is a giant fence around the whole thing and it is outdoors, and it is right next to a big street. So I would get caught pretty quick.
 
Our Y skate park has a sign that says "Closed for Trash". I guess the little kiddies were leaving shit all over and they just decided to close it to teach em some respect. I gotta call and find out what the frickin deal is.
 
I just don't see why they can't just open it to the public, what is the point of having it sit there all year.
 
definitely go to an office or something and talk to them about it, I'm sure if you are nice and ask politely that they might consider opening it up or letting you in. Say you will respect it etc. etc.
 
Yeah our park gets closed like every other week for trash, graffiti and a lot of drug busts! Anything that happens in the whole park where the skatepark is just a small part of gets blamed on the skaters. Cops come to the park all the time and lock it up and yell at people, and lecture. It's ridiculous!
 
Yeah so true, my skate park used to have 3 rails and now there's not even one. There's only quarters and ramps that are all rusted and destroyed. It sucks
