Climbing Harnes recommendations

Im a big fan of Petzl Adjama. They are light, strong, 4 gear loops, quick lock buckles for 85$.

I have the Petzl Ski Touring harness too. Its easy to put on and you forget your wearing it pretty quick. The only thing I dont really like is the plastic clips on the leg loops. Although they only serve to fit better, I scared they will tear off during a fall.

I havent tried much else. Just look up reviews before you buy one.

What kind of climbing are you doing?

The solution is the only harness I’ve ever used, but I also solely top rope in a gym or boulder. You can usually find prior years on sale for a good price too. If you’re just looking for a gym harness you really can’t go wrong with it, but if you’re talking multi pitch routes there are likely comfier options.

90% of the time I’m Sport climbing in karlstein. I tried on the blackdiamond Sloution but the leg lops where to small

Yeah I really like the non-adjustable leg loops for convenience, but I’m sure they won’t fit everyone depending on your thigh vs waist size.

Just picked up an edelrid orion for $60 at REI, pretty good all-around harness for a good deal. I'm a little nervous about the elasticity in the leg loops giving them an overall looser feel as I've racked my nuts before after a fall with a loose leg loop. Reviews don't seem to indicate a problem though.

You should really go to a shop and try them on, including weighting yourself in it. However, the better deals are online so it's up to you. Just be aware some online stores may not take back safety equipment including helmets, harnesses, etc so shop at your own risk.

Any recommendations for a climbing harness for someone new to climbing? From what I've seen the Black Diamond momentum and the Edelrid Jay III are the go tos but I was wondering if anyone else had any advice?

go with the momentum... I got it 2 years ago when I started and still have it, though I should probably start looking for a new one since its been put through nearly daily use. either way Its just a solid, comfy, durable harness that you can do any kind of climbing with.. otherwise ball out and get a Misty Mountain, thats gonna be my next harness cuz they're badass
