Climbing Film Help!

Hey NS,

SO i am working on a rock climbing video. I have never edited rock climbing or know much about rock climbing. Does any one have any good recourses or climbing films for me to check out for reference. Its hard to capture the energy in the sport in a video.

No experience, just was thinking about wanting to get some climbing photos. Heres a video, maybe just to draw inspiration if anything. Is it bouldering/sport (or at least single pitch) /multipitch?

Reel Rock tour videos are also a good place to check out for inspiration.
 
I didn't read op thoroughly so idk if you are asking about filming or editing but I have done a couple rock climbing videos and The key is to be above the climber. Angles from below the climber usually are useless... How I do it is I set up a anchor up top and rappel down to the climber and then uses ascenders to climb back up as the climber goes. Another setup you can use is basically a pulley system where a rope is anchored top and another person on the ground pulls the filmer up as the climber goes.

As for editing it can vary but overall climbing videos are usually bottom to top instead of cutting in and out of different climbs. Again there are a few times when this is not done for example when you have done interviews you may want to cut in between a few different routes or if you are making more of a climbing "story", again this is all in general. But as for cuts they are usually slow except for a couple exceptions such as movie trailers or when expressing a challenge in a route.
