Climbers viciously attacked in Peru

You ppl talking shit about the climbers are literally the scum of the fucking earth. Keep rooting for the poor Peruvians. Both you and them are sick fucks that deserve to die.

Maybe we should donate money to you and send you to Peru. Tell us how the jungle people are if ya make it back.

They built a blockade out of rocks and instead of just pressing on the brake, they decide to slam the truck into a tree? And they were forced to sign a document saying they had crashed, when it would do absolutely nothing for anything? Also, these village people may have been speaking spanish, and the travelers may know spanish, but there are still wayy too many dialects to be able to converse smoothly.

I very much support this idea, he is one of the biggest fuckers on this site. Arguing that Peruvians deserve their poverty? Are you fucking kidding me? Dolan, do you honestly believe people on one continent are inherently different than you and not products of their circumstances? You sound like someone who supports slavery and master race ideology, jesus.

If that's how they treat innocent people, they absolutely deserve their poverty.

Still waiting for proof that this actually happened though.

Look, I don't know wether this is legit or not, I want to believe them, but in places I don't.

Assuming it is real, while nobody deserves to get brutally attacked, these morons were asking for it.

I'm a 17 year old kid who has had the privlidge of traveling around the world, and my father never ceased to teach me important life lessons. A lot of people hate Americans. The last thing they want to see is any sign of wealth, when they are impovereshed. It just adds fuel to the fire.

They shouldn't have gone into Coca villages in their nice souped up van with their Iphones, cameras and laptops, that's just asking for trouble. Their van alone is worth more money than they've seen in a lifetime. It makes the villagers believe that these are spoiled Americans trying to piss them off. (blame it on the DEA) Then, these idiots refused to give their papers to what is not technically a Peruvian police force, but is far more legitimate in these remote villages than the real one. If they gave them their papers, shit probably would not have gone down the way it did. Finally, they should have handed the villagers some valuables and smiled as they presented them with the gifts. That would have been the difference between robbery and death. Trying to drive away and maseing the locals isn't going to help. Not to mention they didn't speak the language.

It's hard to feel bad for them when they made so many mistakes. It's like buying a Porsche, parking it in the middle of the city with the keys in it, unlocked with a note saying steal this car.

Right, but what makes the travelers innocent? How do we know they were innocent?

As a lot of people have pointed out (guy above me made a great post), it sounds like how they were acting was stupid. When traveling you are in someone else's territory and need to act accordingly, and to act as foolishly as people have been reporting they were is bound to get you in trouble. I wouldn't call that innocent at all. When westerners came to South America and destroyed thousands and thousands of people, homes, etc., did they deserve it?

People are a product of their circumstances, period. In the case of many people around the world, their circumstances are poverty as a direct result of US or Western European action. This is going into a different and much larger discussion, but to say that these Peruvians--who I would argue live under poverty because of the selfish actions of my ancestors--deserve their poverty is absurd to me when it sounds as though the travelers may have been acting arrogantly and weren't so innocent.

No, it is nothing like that. In this case PEOPLE got physically hurt and almost lost their lives. They have real injuries. In your scenario an object simply gets taken. Huge difference.

Actually yes. These motherfuckers are a different fucking species from me. They were slaves during the Mayan period and they deserve to be slaves now. The climbers should have run those fuckers over and filmed it. I would have enjoyed watching the Peruvian equivalent of occupy Wall Street getting what they deserve

Who the fuck are you btw? Telling us that the climbers deserved what they got. I believe that humans have morals. These Peruvians don't. To me the fact that these people did this to the climbers isn't only a reason why they deserve to be poor... It's a reason why they are poor. They are not a different race from me. They are a different species

This is some of the most idiotic banter I've read in a while. You're stance is based on substantiating the Peruvians actions because the visitors "may have been acting arrogantly". I don't remember the last time I barricaded someone into my neighborhood and whipped them for arrogance.

this

Say the Americans might have acted arrogantly that still doesn't give somebody a right to beat them and almost kill them.

You fail at trolling. And if you aren't then I'm sorry that you're such a bitter, racist cunt.

Anyway, for me this story seems legit. However, I'm sure that its not the full story and the climbers most likely did something to provoke the villagers whether it was intended or not. Still, this definitely isn't the first story of Americans being attacked and robbed in foreign countries simply because of their wealth.

it's pretty easy to spot those who have never traveled to impoverished areas of the world before. you literally have absolutely no perspective on a situation like this.

i'd like to know how in the fuck these people were able to afford to take a year long trip like this....obviously not working, yet now need bailout money. if you can afford to not work for an entire year while you travel the hemisphere, then you shouldn't need my money at all.

i'm not saying it's a terrible thing that happened, but i can totally see how this could go down...especially in cocoa country.

I understand how it could be their fault but damn that seems harsh. Almost killing them....

It should be noted that this thread now trends on search engines when people look for more information pertaining to the altercation. That means that new people are being exposed to NS, and are judging it based upon the opinions stated within this thread. People have started quoting replies by accualisdolan, .broski, HashBlazer420, and B-runge on forums that feature the exact opposite of the demographic we have in place here, and using their replies as evidence of how stupid and entitled Americans can be. Do we really want to portray an image of racism, ignorance, and hatred to the global community?
Your replies are being seen and judged by others, not just the 12 year olds on this site. Keep in mind that things are never as black and white as they may seem, and that there are always two sides to every story. Putting forth racist, ignorant ideas and suggestions of genocide not only casts you in a bad light, but is a negative portrayal of NS on the whole.

Jesus christ. I don't really have a response to that. You believe humans have morals but your posts say otherwise.

Don't fucking put words in my mouth. Apparently me going on a tangent allowed you and others to believe that I was saying the climbers "deserved what they got" (your words, not mine) or backing up the Peruvians' actions (Dustin's words, not mine). I said nothing in regards to the travelers being beaten except "Right, but what makes the travelers innocent? How do we know they were innocent?" because for the most part one side of this is being presented: that the Americans, who couldn't have done anything to provoke anything, were being beaten by the Peruvians who you present as savages and claim are a different species than you. Maybe the climbers were being disrespectful, arrogant, etc, and to me that combined with the fact that they are in a different country/continent makes them lose all elements of innocence. That's my point, but I'm in no way trying to justify the beatings with this. What the Peruvians did was terrible, obviously wrong, and I never said otherwise.

Much of my post was in response to you saying the Peruvians deserve their poverty, but I guess you clarified that with this post. I have no more to say to you.

Anybody talking about this shit only happening in 3rd world countried has obviously never spent any amount of time in a ghetto. This exact shit (minus the remote jungle village and rocks) happens all the time.

All you need is poor local people, separation from authority and some stupid white people from far away. I would have been O-U-T at the first whistle haha

NS is turning into a shit show lately, literally every thread just turns into people fighting and cursing at eachother. the thread on TGR was like 9 pages a few days ago and 1000x better than this one./rant

but really when your travel out of the country, the US and its laws arent there to protect you. Its an assumed risk when you leave its up to you to do what you have to do. I've gotten into some sticky situations when traveling (usually inviolved with buying things that expose you to shitty people) but you have to realize if shit hit the fan, the US poliece are there to protect you. YOU got youre self into the mess, good luck getting out of it. Vibes though for sure if its real.

Sure, you've been on here a year and have more posts than I do in 8, sometimes its better to keep your opinions to yourself

dude....its the internet. This thread is on the same website as a thread about "peeing in a girls butt," sexy pictures of women in sport bras, and blowing up chad's gap ( way better, more hilarious, immature threads.....but those are the only ones coming to mind).

if you or anybody takes anything on this site as serious buisness, then you might not want to stay on this site too long.

The story reminded me of the time Top Gear got "attacked" in Alabama:

me too. to people saying that the climbers were asking for it, no! simply by them being there does not make the villagers entitled to beat them. i get that it's their territory their rules etc. but they were asked for permission and they said yes. what kind of degenerates are they to just go against their own words like that?

get the zombie gear ready we're goin to peru
