Climate Change skeptics

Do you guys out there run into a lot of climate change skeptics on a day to day basis? How do you handle that if they engage you?

Is there room for reason, or is it a new religion at this point for some?

Also climate change skeptics out there:

What is it that makes you skeptical?
 
if you don't believe in climate change then you refuse to believe in scientific proof and therefore there's no use arguing about it. there's as much proof for climate change as there is for cigarettes causing harm to human.

I'm skeptical because climate is always changing so scientists are jumping on this opportunity to publish studies linking this to humans with whatever straws they can to essentially create a whole field of study on anthropogenic climate change which, because of their fear mongering, means they're able to get funding for further projects which they normally would not get.

For real fuck those so called scientist and the data they collect about all that nasty shit that goes in the air and water. They are just in it for the money and the million dollar labs. All that pollution we put in the air isnt harming any thing at all.

Since when did we care about polluting. Unless it's c02 it doesn't matter. Dump garbage in the streams, cut down the trees, just don't put out any c02 ever. Or buy some carbon condolences and it doesn't matter what the hell you do because you're green enough to through a cool bumper sticker on your SUV.

Anyone who thinks it's fake is just in denial.

Sad thing is too, even if we cut all carbon emissions off 100% today, the earth's temp would continue to rise, and not begin to adjust itself for more than 100 years.

You think showing unarguable proof of what humans have done to this earth and its atmosphere is fear-mongering?
 
I think that humans contribute a little to the cause. Looking at patterns throughout history we see that the weather temputure go up and down. Carbon dioxide in our atmosphere is also not as big of a deal as many think it is. Water Vaper makes up 90% of our atmosphere.

I'm not saying that exuast fumes or any carbon dioxide is good, I just think that it doesn't have the impact that many people think it does.

but how is it unarguable proof when it's written by those who have financial interest in climate change being real?
 
ive never met anyone who actually didnt think human activites were changing the climate.

yeah I'm sure the massive holes we put in the ozone layer has nothing to do with it. You're really on par right now with people who believe the earth is 6000 years old and people who think Noah's Ark really happened. the polar ice caps are melting and we have done at this point irreversible damage to the environment it doesn't matter White that it's true feel free to take a trip up to Antartica sometime.

dude, let's not even get into that. the fact that widespread fear mongering of religions has caused the vast majority of people to refute proof of Noah's Ark is really sickening. People are still finding irrefutable proof of it happening every day. read this article for instance.. it just sucks the media are puppets of the fear mongers:

Seeing these replies make me cringe

If you're going to be going around saying "oh yeah ya know I really feel carbon dioxide doesn't do much" at least look up how carbon dioxide interacts with the outgoing infrared radiation, and you would realize that carbon dioxide is terrible, and acts like the all the other greenhouse gasses.

The earth is changing at several orders of magnitude faster than it ever has before. If you want to say that is "just natural" then you are an idiot

Regardless of whether nearly the entire scientific community supposedly has hidden agendas when it comes to climate science (which is just absurd and completely untrue), opinions and agendas do not and cannot change hard facts. The overwhelming scientific consensus, based on hard, verifiable evidence, is that man-made climate change is real, and it is happening - there is no debate. If you choose to reject that, then you are delusional

Global sea ice is literally the same amount since the cooling period that ended in 1979. Yeah it was low for like six years but now it's back to "normal" (going by 1979 standards). Also the amount of ice in 1979 was supposedly more than the amount at the end of the Little Ice Age about 100 years ago.

Also I would advise a trip up to the Arctic rather than Antartica.

Great question Antarctic land ice is the ice which has accumulated over thousands of years on the Antarctica landmass itself through snowfall. This land ice therefore is actually stored ocean water that once fell as precipitation. Sea ice in Antarctica is quite different as it is ice which forms in salt water primarily during the winter months. When land ice melts and flows into the oceans global sea levels rise on average; when sea ice melts sea levels do not change measurably.

Amongst all the shite in this thread some good points have been made. I think this article is pretty good, you only have to look at the first graph to see that although yes co2 levels have risen and fallen throughout history, they are currently at unseen levels. That is proof in itself that no matter what the effect, there is an effect caused by humans.

Actually there is zero proof that Jesus existed its all second hand accounts from people saying he lived, and there's an 18 year gap out of his life where he didn't come back until he was crucified. There are many objects that claim to be his but all have been disproven.

Uh uh! I saw a movie about a kid that went to heaven and the bible said he was so he is! He was a magical white man with flowing hair and a beard and you can't prove he's not real evolution is fake and so is climate change!!!!

The vast majority if scholars acknowledge that he was a real person. Say whatever you want but he existed. Thats all im saying on this, its way off the thread topic and youre one of the most stubbirn and thick skulled members on here.
