Cliffs in the northeast

I was reading that post on the biggest cliff drop, I personally have only dropped some big ones when I was out at Vail last year. But what I was wondering if anyone could give me some input as to some good cliffs in the east. The only two that I know of are the one at Mad River Glen which absolutely sucks, definitely thought a blew my knee out on that flat landing. And then my friend showed me one at stowe. So everyone give some input!

There are some juicy drops at Jay. You gotta search around for them though. They're kinda in the middle of the woods. They have been manicured and cut so they can be dropped. Sizes range from 15-40 feet.

When I was at Vail I was lookin for some cool shit to ski and I saw a cliff that had an ice landing, maybe 40 degree+ slope that went straight into a mogul field. Damn I wanted to drop a cliff but I saw that shit and I was like fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck no! Vail didnt impress me too much. Of course I only skied it for 1 day and I had no idea of where shit was (basically me and my bro were dropped off at golden peak and we had to find our way around). Blue sky basin was ok but the conditions sucked the day I was there. I could see how its a cool mountain on powder days but from what I saw it was just ok.

Jay, all the way!

Jay has some crazy stuff in the woods, you just have to look around. Check out beyond beaver pond, theres a ridge that ranges in size from 10-20 feet. There is also some drop able stuff off the top. Stowe is crazy too, check out the waterfall you can see it when your riding the gondola.

I was at Vail for a day as well, I found some pretty sick cliffs out near the back bowls. But as for the east, you can pretty much find cliffs anywhere if you look around. Even ski sundown has cliffs, it just takes some local knowledge to get there. I know Jay definitely has some good ones though.

My favs at VAil are the Cornice on top of Genghis Cong that drops into China bowl, thats usually a good 20-25 ft drop at one point. The other is lover's leap in blue sky, you don't even have to ski bumps after that drop.

you gotta know what resorts have them.. smaller resorts such as suicide six in vermont, saddleback in ME.. who knows what they have?

i know though that Magic mountain in Vermont is pretty sick..its all steep and cliff lined everywhere, and its 10 min down the road from stratton. its all black terrain...except for one trail that is a blue.

dont go there though.. its uncrowded and would suck if it did get crowded

at Jay Valhalla has a cliff, but I always forget where it is. There is another on the right side of the saddle. Vortex is a smaller drop it's way off river quai.

smuggs has a bunch of lil warm up drops if you look around for em... i know of a bunch that are actually pretty damn nice... they are all tucked away in the woods and what not... very nice

vail has some good drops if u know where to go..I guess winter park does too...berthoud though man, its crazy...I dont think they're opening this year though

Why do you guys say, 'I have to take a shit' when you just leave it there?' JF learning english

Oh man Oz is so nice. I have found such good terrain probably no more then 20 feet in, untouched.

There is one 'trail' off of a certain trail (I will not reveal it) that is waaaaaaay in, I was just going through the woods to find a place to piss, and I found a perfectly straight, steep, and multiple drops. I doubt too many people know about this, but I skied waist deep powder on that trail. Oh man last year was so great......

whiteface has a few i know stowe has a 60ft + thats what i heard sick shit for the east just hope its not ice at the buttom

inside the notch coming off mt mansfield are about 8 of them dropping into pinhead trails, tuckermans and the gulf of slides has an assload at good times of the year, and big jay carries a few, but you find those by chance.

Loon has a few but you need to know the mountain well to find them. Jay has some really good ones. But the best are out west at Jackson and Steamboat.
