Hey NS, thought I would post this up for you guys! I got hired by a renewable energy company to film a teaser for their new product. Essentially they wanted the video to get people stoked

enough to possibly invest. They loved it so much that they hired me back to do some more videos!!! : ) Im currently working on another one and it will be coming out soon! Tell me what you think! Enjoy!

Thanks man! Pretty much, I'll quote, "The World Water System is a cutting-edge product capable of providing consistent electrical power and clean water to millons of people anywhere in the world using renewable energy." I go on and elaborate, but pretty much it is a portable system that fits on a trailer, (as seen in multiple shots) that can use the sun and wind to harness enough energy to power two american homes. In addition, that power is used to run the water maker which is capable of turning pretty much any type of water into clean uncontaminated drinking water.

Damn, that is sick as fuck.

I bet the trailor cost's a shit ton. but still super sick

well this was just awesome. i really enjoyed it, colors were perfect and loved how the editing fit the cuts of the music like it should be done. awesome. makes me want to specialize in renewable energy with my major after seeing that. awesome

Congrats on the gig! looks really good man!

i just got a job working making documentary edits for a girls cosmetic company. i love getting inspiration from guys like you

Thank you! I'm stoked that I am able to inspire you! The video I'm currently working on for them is documentary style, I'll send it your way when I finish it up!

it had really good pacing. The one thing I noticed, some of the text blocks were not centered vertically.

that was top notch! I liked the feel of the video.

If I have 1 thing to say its about that first glidecam shot. I assume your aperture was low because its not fully in focus. Im looking for problems though. Just need to give you feedback.

so just watch out for aperture, dont just use it to blur. when apropriate, bump it up.

This is super sick when I gain a little more experience I want to get some little gigs like this to make some pocket change

Thank you everyone for the feedback! Very much appreciated!!!

Static - Thanks for the keen eye! I made the titles in After Effects, any tips for making the vertical position of the text perfect?

MatRich - Glad you enjoyed it! When I got the footage into my computer that particular glidecam shot had some absolutely ridiculous amounts of moire/aliasing in it. So I ran a few plugins to get rid of it. That is probably why it might appear to be slightly blurry.

P3t3r - Thanks! For this company, as well as future videos I do for them, I actually decided to opt out of being payed in cash. Instead, I am receiving a certain percentage of stock in the company thats rated at a particular amount of shares per hour. You may wonder why I decided to do this. I'm only 18 and I don't necessarily need to be paid in cash. In the long run, I could make tenfold what I could ever have made outright in cash. When making this decision I looked at people like William Shatner who was the spokesman for Priceline. He did that for free in exchange for stock. He made 600 million. For me I look at it as risk management, sure I'm technically doing this free, but my risk is low and my potential reward is rather good. If I end up making nothing, it's been a great experience for me! Also, thanks man for the background suggestion, I'll definitely keep that in mind!

.God. - Thanks for the suggestions! Dialogue would have worked and I thought about it, but I decided I wanted to have the music play at a consistent level because I thought it added a very "epic" dynamic to it. Thanks for the background suggestion too. I forgot to mention this in the description, but from concept, to filming, to editing, everything took place in about a week and a half. I'm a full time film student as was extremely pressed for time. I'll definitely take the background suggestion into consideration when I do some more videos!

I liked that a ton. I do think the text blocks could be edited down a little bit the next time around. They were a little bit too redundant.

Either way, that was a great vid, and a great product.

about your question about centering the text in after effects, just pop up the safe title grid it will be alot easier

i'd take a little cash too despite being 18, green energy/ enviro stocks are a dime a dozen-and relitively pretty riskey

good thinking though look how much similar investiments made 50'
