Driving passed a police car in an urban segment.

Someone getting absolutely wrecked in an urban shot and then finally landing it.

Back country skiers scoping a line/admiring the scenery.

And also a shitload of Tomahawks.

good list but tomahawks can't be cliche, theyre so gnarly and it's not a set up shot!

skier spitting water / pissing on urban jump

skier high five after riding a line

camera pointed towards heli firing up as skier walks by with skis in hand

Any ski edit that's posted on the internet has that one cliche chairlift shot.

Skiers driving through city looking for shit to hit. So difficult! Do I go left? Right? Straight?? Where can I even find coffee? Oh my god, I'm wearing so many ski clothes I'm sweatin' in my Highlander, gotta pull the beanie back!

What never ceases to amaze me is how nice of cars, particularly the europeans, drive. Does almost every crew have that one guy w/ a new 20k+ car?

-Somebody running a winch

-Skiers pulling wakeboard/winch handle

-Token suburban "never-seen-skiing-before character"

-Snowmobile doubling

-Slow motion and/or rack focus snow flakes

-Flags, mostly of the USA variety

-Chapters

-Skiers pointing at stuff

-last shot of a flick being the typical lingering on the run out, slough or avy dying out in the back ground of some gnarly line, zoom out as skier gets to ski bros after doing an excited playful ollie in the flats

-AK downtime shots of chess, pool, reading, playing the drive the nail into the stump game or throwing knives

The hand that goes in and out of the lens quickly and repetitively

Pretty sure this is something that was from the era of recording on tapes that transferred over a bit unnecessarily. Since tapes are just continuous and have no separate files like a digital cam, to mark where a sick shot was the filmer would put his hand in front of the camera as a marker. Then, when going through the footy, picking out the good shots is as easy as fast forwarding through the footy and looking for the hands.

"I ski therefore I am" speech

*background emotional music

You know, it's just who we are

*slow mo shot of heli landing*

We're always pushing the sport, progressing the sport

*climbing in heli*

When you're soaring through the mountains in that heli, looking for a place to drop and you're thinking "where should I drop?"

*Inaudible radio chatter with a BLOOP when they release the talk button

*Shot of heli flying away from skiers at mountain top

*Music stops

On radio "Three, two, one, DROPPAAANG!!"

*Long distance shot of skier coming down cliff face

*Film crew ooh's and aaah's

"This is what I do, this is who I am"

This thread delivers.

Every summer setup edit: hiking to the drop in and the skier does the thing where they spin the ski while throwing it in the air and catching it
