Cleaning Up B/S/T

I've seen this worked on a UK website I am a member of. In order to even post in the forum, you have to meet a certain requirement (X posts, X months of membership). My suggestion would to have a minimum of 500 posts and 6 months of membership to create a thread, 300 posts with 4 months of membership to post in a thread. There should also be a way to monitor the activity, so that someone can't create a profile and then just wait a couple months. I know that this is in no way a fool proof idea, but I thought it was a great little way to keep that forum a bit cleaner.
Cheers

maybe like 100 post to make a thread, alot of kids come on here just to sell stuff, and most of the time those kids ask really cheep prices for sick gear

this. every other forum im a part of has that requirement to sell.

i also still say we need to crack down on poorly made sales.

no pics. deleted.

no basic description. deleted

no ballpark price range. deleted.

pointless wtb threads. deleted.

WTB BLUE HELMET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[thread content] TITLE SAYS IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes really. it eliminates the clutter and confusion of HOW MUCH!!??! and shows whether they are looking to sell and hook an nser up or just flip for absurd profit.

i personally find that incredibly annoying. at least have a remote ballpark figure of what you are looking for.

It really pisses me off when they list something for offer with no ballpark, I PM and state a price and they LAUGH.

If you're gonna be a dick about it, then at least state your highball price and not waste our time

This is very true.

The amount of threads that are full of...:

"350"

"Nah, looking for much more"

"400"

"Nah, looking for a bit more"

"How much you want for it then?"

"Gimme an offer and I'll tell you if it's good"

"420"

"Nah, looking for a bit more than that"

*Repeat*

...is ridiculous.

Also, pictures must be photos of the stuff. I hate it when people post stock pictures of their items. It's insulting when you ask for pictures of someone's item, and they send you a link to the company's website.

Do both. scammers like the fucking cell phone salesmen aren't going to spend the time to whore 100+posts.

I can agree with this. I know I've heard before that NS doesn't moderate that forum because of legalities (correct me if I'm wrong), but I don't think there's any reason to not have a strict policy on making these threads. We don't have to get involved with the actual sale, but to give that forum some credibility, I think having structure would be a great idea.

precisely. i understand theres a limit to how involved they can get in the transaction. im just asking that they clean it up a little so its readable again.

both is best IMO. that way they can't just sign up, wait 3 months and then make threads, or simply post whore until they can.

I think like 100 posts and 1 month should be good. but enable both so even if they are on for a month and dont have 100 post than they cant post or make a thread. the thing that would be kinda lame is if someone post something dope they cant post in the thread but only PM.

but thats my opinion
