I've tryed isotropol(sp) rubbing alcohol (recommended) on both my pads and rotors, are there ay other suggestions? because apparent;y the rubbing alcohol didn't work. just days ago my brakes were fine, until i accidentally spillt some degreaser onto the rotors. now my back brake doesn't stop, theres only a lot of friction and a wierd granular rubbing sound when i brake.

help please!!

u killed ur pads when u put rubbing alcohol on them, so just go buy new pads and clean the rotor again with acohol, and if that doesnt fix the problem take it to a shop and tell them whats up. or if u know how and u have hydroulic brakes try bleeding them, i dont know shit about mechanical ones so if thats what u have i wouldnt know what else to tell u

i have a friend who is a chick and she put degreaser on her breaks cause she said that then they woyuld be nice and clean. it was funny as hell when she couldnt stop well at the stopo sigh, i was nice and helped her fix thepeob though.

yup yup. DONT touch pads with anything. you really shouldnt touch rotors, as the oils from your hands gets on um, and into the pads, but its not usually a big issue. if your doin any kinda work where you might spill somethin on them, or spray something bad on um, cover um or take um out. rubbing alcohol will clean rotors right up thou.

What a novel idea. Shit is like $2.00 a can and it should slap you in the face when you go into an auto parts store. Use it.
