Cleaning a grimy carpet. Any suggestions?

Our carpet looks really grimy in high traffic areas. I've rented a rug doctor before, but that didn't really do much. How are the Bissell style carpet cleaners that you can buy at Walmart for like $150 ish? Think one of those might work better? Thinking about Walmart rent-a-centering one (buy one, use it, and then return it). Or anyone have any other suggestions of how to clean my grimy carpet?

I just bought a new vacuum, $150 doesn't get you much. RugDoctor it but go over the carpet a bunch of times.

i know when im looking for carpet cleaning suggestions, my first thought is "I know! Ill ask NS!!"

You know those reallllly expensive vacuums and rug cleaners? Kirby and the like? If you call them and tell them you're interested they will send a salesman to your house who will demonstrate the product anywhere you want. Your rug will be professionally cleaned for free.

See if you can get your hands on a carpet extractor. I'm not sure how you would since in most cases they are an industrial thing.

But where a carpet shampooer massages suds on the surface of the carpet an extractor pumps them into the threads and then sucks them back out.

You can pay a guy to come in and steam clean the fuck out of it for about a hundred. Shit does wonders.

> get a time machine> go back in time and book a hardwood floor installment for tomorrow

> travel forward in to today again

> diarrhea all over your grimy carpet and give zero fucks

> get hardwood floor tomorrow

> diarrhea all over your hardwood floor because it cleans up easy

> watch da bitchez flock

You can use Carpet Shampoo, just like Bissell 78H6B Deep Clean Pro 2X Deep Cleaning Concentrated Formula.

Using very hot tap water I went over lightly once with water only to loosen the soap and dirt that other cleaning had left behind. I then went over the carpet in sections with the Bissell deep cleaning formula, starting with the high traffic areas so I could do those areas over again at the end if needed.

The carpet dried completely within about 5-6 hours. The color was noticeably brighter, the same color as in the closets where no wear and tear had ever occurred.
