Whats he up to these days? Saw something about him leaving Colorado...moving away from skiing and more into film production? Just curious..

Clayton's got the right to do whatever the hell he wants with his life. Maybe he's a little fed up with urban skiing and I don't blame him. I love watching the stuff he puts out every year but a human being can only take so many iron bars to the ribs, slams into concrete, and staircase back massages. Urban loses appeal after awhile. He's one hell of a film maker and if that's what he'd rather do than trash his body all day for little reward, all the power to him. #skiersarepeopletoo

Ok good for him, but I still think it's lame because there are other types of skiing. I never said anything about his rights, I was just stating my opinion.

Damn you must be hard to please if you don't think your dad or Clayton Vila are cool.

This guy has dropped a lot of dope shit and made his impact on the sport likely wants to go out on his own terms while he is on top. And he can probably ski more and still drop ski material now and again that is more fun to do from his end while focusing on other things.

Definitely one of the best.

He could drop skiing altogether, pick it up 15 years later, and he'd still rip harder than you ever could. I feel like he'll keep skiing though, nobody completely lets it go unless they are forced to.

No you can its just the wrong pro to hate on most other ones you'd get upvotes and all that. Most are generic and don't really push the sport in the right direction comp skiing is boring and this dude knows it. There are lots of good skiiers out there but again Vila is the man for saying F that to the more boring side of freeskiing but is as good.

Love his edits because I'm not getting jealous of some lucky dickhead heliskiing in Alaska when it should be me ripping those pow lines.

Nope, I will be skiing as hard as ever for a long time. I just live in southern California now because I grew up on the ocean and was sick being landlocked. Yes, I am an avid film director, but that's because I have seven months a year to literally do whatever I want. I choose to spend that time progressing a second interest in my life: filmmaking. No, you won't see an annual film from me this fall, but that's because shooting X Games took up the first half of my winter. Anyone who follows me probably knows how I feel about releasing a mediocre part that I made in a month.

Answer: Me progressing my filmmaking doesn't mean I am quitting skiing.

Question for you: Did my Real Ski video really give out a "washed up" kinda vibe?
