like the 35678900 million of people i broke my collarbone this season.

The docs at the er told me 6 weeks till im better, as do most websites. 6 weeks seems to be the standardish time of healing for these things.

The questions come with my ortho doctor telling me 2.5 MONTHS till i can do contact sports aka skiing. I loled.

Everything ive read on here and most biking forums says 6 weeks and your pretty sturdy

Its been a lil over three weeks for me now and i have 0 pain anymore and full range of motion (im a little weak from being in a sling so long but pt will fix that fast) So im pretty stoked on how im healing.

I overdose on calcium supplements everyday and do exercises to stimulate bone growth all day in school as i sit there

I didnt have to have surgury and it wasnt even broken all the way through, just bent a bit and snapped about 2/3 of the way through. And its straightening out a little already but its still crooked

So, ns i shall be good to return to the hill in 6 weeks to go hard? How did everyone elses collabones feel crashing on them 6 weeks later?

Here is what happened to BEARS.$

"broke my collarbone twice within 2 months of each other. fuck frontflips to face."

good luck!

my guess is you are on your parents insurance so get at it tomorrow. right now you are probably only 25 -50 % healed right now. you could go ride easy at 6 weeks but reality is listen to the doc and you can always get a seconds opinion from another ortho doc

Ya I broke my collarbone at the beginning of the season and I was probably back on the slopes 5 or 6 weeks, and it felt fine

i just broke my collarbone 2 weeks ago. but i had a big break and had to get surgery. i've been told to not ski for 4 weeks but to not push myself at all. i got told to not go in the park for 8 weeks so basically the season which sucks but it'll be worth it. for you do what feels right. you could probably go skiing in a few weeks but when you do just ski don't go in the park and keep an eye out for everyone around you don't want someone smashing into you

well im sorry. and for your questions, i waited six weeks after breaking mine, and rebroke it the first day back on snow, so id say its a crapshoot.

thats not wht i wanted to hear.

Iplanned on airbagging on the 6 week aniversary to make sure my tricks are safe,

And then the weekend after (7) weeks be back to going hard.

How did you rebreak it? Slam or?

yeah i just caught an edge switch and slammed right onto the bad shoulder. but it really depends how bad it broke. mine was destroyed and the first specialist i went to said i didnt need surgery about a week after i broke it, and when i rebroke it i went to another specialist that said i definitely should have had surgery. and now 6 years later it has been giving me trouble so im gonna get surgery soon, which includes rebreaking it with a hammer and pinning and screwing it back together. so long story short, make sure the doctors you go to know their shit.

not my collarbone but an x ray that looks exactly like mine exept this guy had very thick collarbones^ Mine wasnt bad atall

You should be good to go in 6 weeks, and 2.5 months is 8 weeks so its not that big of a difference depending on how many more weeks you have left in your season.

Just be sure to take it easy and don't go before you're cleared. I went out and played basketball about 4 weeks into my recovery, rebroke it again, and I'll be luck to get another day in this season now. So yeah, don't be me and you'll be able to go soon. Its a 12 weeker for me now.

to be honest though, i feel like if i fell now (its been 3.4 weeks) it would break again.

but sweet to hear a happy ending,

i intend upon throwing my 1st dub at 8 weeks so it will be tested

broke mine the last week of january, so its been roughly a little more than 6 weeks. doctor told me 4 weeks as well. i'd say mines 95% healed at this point because i still feel sharp pain if i were to throw a baseball relatively hard.

why do you think this? Its now also got a large mond of bone built all around were it was broken and id say its like a third bigger than it used to be so hopefully its extra strong? lol and its been 5 weeks. The 7 day countdown till i return to the hill almost full force. STOKED!

My brother broked his collarbone on december 25, fractured at two places, and is only coming back next week, but season is what I qualify as over here (quebec)... But he's been lucky cause it could have been really worse (overclearing a landing on a lazy boy cork 3, landing on his face).
