Strange, I didn't know this was so popular. I'll usually do it on the first run of a day or when I'm really psyched to do something, usually by myself... because standing alone at the top of a nice line is pretty much enough to get anybody psyched.
hell yeah, I was skiing on my new sticks the other day alone in this area of snowbird I really like called "get serious". I was skiing lines I wouldnt normally ski, I'm not really sure why but I was just pushing it pretty hard for the conditions and I was having so much fun and got pretty creative with some pretty hairy lines. Skiing lines alone is very auxilerating
i used to do it before every run as a racer. just 2 clicks, alternating which pole was on top. now i do it when i concentrate before something. i usually sigh while i do it, kinda like "im gunna die" kinda thing.
Tend to tap the top of my grips together if I'm feeling nervous.
If you see someone stomp something big or a mate does something they've been trying for a while it's just nice to give'em a pole clap. I love it when someone does it for me.
we have this ting that when one skier rides, he clap the closest skiers pole and if he totalyn nail his trick, everyone goes wild clapping their poles. but carving alittle in the inrun when your hitting the jump switch, that brings inner peace
