Claiming VS afterbang..ing

some skier either love or hate afterbangs... and some skiers either love or hate people who put up their arms after they just stomped the dopest trick (which is pretty much claiming).. Pretty much every trick that is land people do one or another..

which one do u guys prefer?

 
awww don't be sad.. I've seen way crappier threads.. anyways.. id say after bang is 100 times cooler then "claiming".. and in fact.. i probably wouldn't think claiming were that lame if matchstick hadn't totally butchered the concept.. (movie was rad minus the theme)
 
football players own the afterbang/claim business...more skiers need to have little victory dances after they do something cool
 
I have a sweet claim/victory dance for after I do something dope but if I say it all these kids on NS will jock my steeze cuz it's that fucking tight.

It used to be like that, now afterbang says:

"damnit I'm good, that 900 was nothing"

When you claim a little it's like:

"Holy shit did I really just do that!?!? FUCK IM STOKED!"
 
i think afterbanging just looks sick and if you're stoked on a trick that you landed for your first time, you should claim it. Be proud of the accomplishment
 
I think Harlaut perfected the claimerbang after his sw 1620 cause he afterbanged then held up his arms, kinda like "holy shit did I just do that?" then before you can answer he says "Yes, yes I did"
 
yea, id say the only time "claiming" is cool is if you've been hiking the park workin on 1 trick for awhile and you finally stomp it. other than that aftabang all the way....
 
exactlyyyy. afterbang i think makes you look full of yourslef.... arms up is just like DAMNI IM PROUD I JUST DID THAT! THAT WAS FUCKING NUTS!
 
claim - for when you land new tricks

afterbang - when you land old tricks

afterclaim - when you can stomp a kangaroo as easy as Jon Olsson
 
If the trick you threw was realy that sick you dont need to claim it. Everyone else will see it and realize what just happened.
 
Honestly, Im gettin really sick of these posts. If you just skied you wouldn't be in the newschoolers forums. In these forums many kids learn new styles which help to make their style. Also almost everyone on this site, just enjoys any aspect of skiing and enjoys to talk about it.

I honestly don't think i know anyone who actually throws their hands in the air when they land a trick. But riding away is so much more baller.
