CISPA just got passed 248 to 168

FUCK ME RIGHT, if this effects me im actually going to fucking sue you assholes. im a canadian and you shitty bill better not fuck with me

Dub Post after reading further.

If Obama does actually keep his word and veto the bill, he will gain a lot of support in the next election.

OBAMA!!! CHANGE!!!

That's horrible. Its even worse how they rushed it also and added even more stuff too it. it needs to be killed with fire.

he fucking better, thats the one thing good about the american government, too many checks and not enough balances so you guys never get anything done. If he doesn't veto the bill then I dont know what I will do. Anyone know exactly how this will effect canadians? also this is super fucking sneaky be the government, just sneak in a SOPA 2.0 when no ones paying attention.

Obama needs to assert himself on this one, his diplomatic ways have no effect on corporate republican lunacy. VETO!

Obama also threatened to veto NDAA and then signed it last minute just like he did with the Patriot Act

American politics are so fucked up

just a whole bunch of fuck. ever read 1984, its pretty much like that, the government will be cleared to monitor your internet usage for whatever reason (without a warrant) at anytime. total fuckall bullshit, sorry for being so angry.

This doesn't come as a surprise to me. The House is majority republican. I'm definitely nervous for the Senate even though it's majority democratic. If it makes it through the Senate we better hope it stops at President Obama's desk.

Did I ever say it didn't have to pass through the senate? Did I ever say the bill was enacted?

"Me I was walking down the street and it was a nice day" -Me

"THAT'S BECAUSE IT WAS SUNNY" -You

Add something valuable to the conversation instead of flaunting you grade school education

So sick of this internet law bullshit. The internet shouldnt ever be restricted. If this does pass we'll just be one step closer to a revolution

i'll point out this, not cause the thread was made but because of the info in it.https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/690609/

Oh come on people. Quit complaining. This is our democratic government in action. We're all Americans and we all have votes. We voted for these people and as such should respect their decisions. The government acts on the will of the people, so we chose this didn't we? Doesn't the government act in the interest of the people? Or perhaps the government is good, but the current politicians aren't. Perhaps we need good politicians in office. I mean, of course it takes corporate sponsorship to get there, but I'm sure a good person can make it into office on the backs of corporations and/or unions and then tell them no once they're in office. Anyway, I'd just like to say I support our government, right or wrong, because if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have roads, we'd be speaking German, society would break down into warring tribes, etc.

Guess it's time to move to Japan to support my porn addiction...

But seriously this is way out of line...and it makes me ashamed to have conservative values

are you fucking kidding me you know how fucking corrupt these people are G.W didn't even have the majority and still became our president, and no the government acts for the interest of itself .

and anyone quoting that i know gorge w bush is no longer our president i was stating a bullshit systems we have in gov.

Best interest for us my ass.

Not at all. They are just a bunch of old people on capital hill. They don't know any thing about the internet. They never grew up with it, and never understood how big of an impact it has played. They are completely oblivious to what they are doing except trying to keep the profits for the companies.

Surprised? No. Will it impact my daily life/change the way I do anything? No. Is it a horrifying and blatant infringement of our rights? Yes.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. He did the same posturing with NDAA. No one in the Executive or Legislative branches give a shit about our personal liberties anymore. This country is increasingly becoming a police state.

"Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither."
