Alright. My birthday is coming up in just under 2 months. Jun 14th. I'll be turning 13. Generally birthdays are pretty standard but this one is going to be a little bit different. Anyway my family is jewish and we go to temple every week. But in my church and in my family it's been a long standing tradition of the boys getting circumcised when they turn 13. Part of a coming of age ritual. My dad, his dad, uncles, even my brother all went through this. I'm scared though. I don't know if I want them to do it. At the same time I kind of have to. The whole idea scares me. I mean I wouldn't mind as much if I had been born that way, but it's just kinda weird at the thought of your penis suddenly being different. Not to mention weird to let some doctor cut at my penis.

Has anyone gone through anything similar with their families? Even on a different issue? I don't think I really want to do i t. But I don't think I have a choice. It's sort of just the way things are. Like This is what you have to do and you do it and that's just life.

I guess it's not the end of the world, but it's just been on my mind. Sorry to whine on here. Not trying to be a crybaby about life or anything. I can't wait till it's winter again and all this is done with for better or worse.

Man that sucks. I think there is a reason it is done to some (including myself) when they are babies... and that is that it hurts really bad.
 
i'm circumcised and i love my dick, so there's a +1 in the circumcision column. but having it done at 13 would terrify the crap out of me.
 
Dude, they want to chop part of your cock off - I'm not surprised you're scared. If you don't want them to do it then tell them you're not letting them anyway near it and you want to be left exactly as God intended. It will piss them off a shitload but surely better that than spending the rest of your life regretting the fact that you let some guy cut a part of your knob off forever.
 
I don't think it's terrible either way from birth. Def lose some sensitivity though. Also seems like a huge pain in the ass to do at this point.

You gotta do what you gotta do. Don't JUST do it because they want you to. I understand it's hard though. Not a great situation. Can you talk to your dad about it and express your concerns?

yeah im so glad i got it done when im a kid. that being said im not jewish either. but i mean your thirteen there isnt much you can do about it. just het the procedure done(i assume they will put you out) and then just stay up on your pain killers. shouldnt be any different then getting your wisdom teeth out. except for the fact that you can see the stitches and everything after... and its on your dick, not in your mouth. and you dont need four fore skins removed, only one. and you probably wont go to the dentist to have it done. and your cheeks wont get all puffed up.
