Circular polarizing filter question

I just bought a 55mm promaster circular polarizing filter for shooting on snow and water with my dslr but don't want to have to use a slower shutter speed than i normally would (because of the darkening tint in the filter)

are all polarizing filters tinted? ...or is it possible to have a clear polarizing filter??
 
i havent seen any clear ones but i havent really looked around. try bumping up your ISO. since its mostly sunny out and a lot of white (from the snow) you should be able to bump up the iso without too much effect on noise and stuff.
 
Pretty much every filter but a clear/UV is going to decrease the amount of light hitting the film/sensor.

So, no, you won't find a polarizer that doesn't take away light. Just turn your ISO up a stop or two, since polarizers usually take like 1-2 stops I think.

Actually, you're still probably going to use a fast shutter in the snow anyway, i wouldn't worry about it.

and when i shoot with my filter i dont notice much change in the setting to be honest and when you look down the lense you can't see past the filter so that says how dark it is
 
damn. all my dreams of a clear polarizing filter are shattered haha
