Chronics vs. pe's

im thinking about buying one of them next year. they're both good all mountain skis but hold up in the park from what i've read and heard. but what im wondering is, i weigh about 125 right now, next year probably like 140. im 5'6'' as of now. i'll probably only grow a few more inches. so are they too stiff for me cause of my weight? i'd like to have a ski that can take groomers and bumps. but i'm also getting into freestyle alot. i've been trying rails and jumps more and more. just looking for some advice. most liekly i think i'm gonna have to step down to another ski cause im light. i know these threads are created all the time but any help would be greatly appreciated. oh and bindings im thinking axials. thanks guys.

i would say chronics...but the pes look not to bad for u either...it all depends...i have the original chronics...and they are fucking insane...im def. getting next years (next year)...they have wicked crazy pop and are amazing skis all around...not to mention 100000% bombproff...and i mean bombproof...like i have put mine threw their paces and no edge cracks delams or anything...

i just saw the 1260's going for $249 new on d-structure so yeah thats agood deal, i think. can someone tell me a bit about the 1260?

alright ill start with the 1260

the good

cheap, theyre an incredible bargain, you get a great ski for a small price. theyre pretty durable, my topsheet it holding up pretty good, no cracked edges at all.

they have a ton of pop, the popiest ski ive ever skiied, theyre also incredibly light, i have a 182 1260 and ive never been able to 180 off the ground with so much ease, also a great ollie ski

theyre also stiffer than i expected, much stiffer than my fujatives but not as stiff as my public enemies.

the bad

i personally find it skinny (78 underfoot), which is great for bumps and carving, but they arent quite as stable on rails as a ski with an 85 waist

conclusion

they rock bumps, they rock jumps, they spin well, theyre light theyre super cheap, id recomend them.

PUBLIC ENEMY

the good

carves like it was made to, super stable, works everywhere

the bad

durability, topsheet chips like a mother, and my edges cracked though they havent come out yet, a tad heavy

conclusion

in your case id go with the 1260, you probavly dont want to throw to much money around and sonce you are a huge guy theyll probably work for you

im leaning towards pe'sor chronics since i found both of them for $299 and the 1260's are $249 unless you guys got cheaper prices?

get the chronics, both of those are some of the most durable skis on the market, but the chronic is lighter and softer than the PE. it is also skinnier than this years PE (80 to 85). if you are looking at a little wider, there are also the chronic wides which are 85, but still lighter than the PEs. both great skis, price difference isn't huge, the only difference is the chronic is better for park and the PE is better all mountain, though they are both good for both. i would say go chronic cause you are a lighter skier and would apprecciate the lightness of the ski.

i have the chrons and i lov em... my edges need to b tuned liek a ton tho for sum reason adn i dont even do many rails.... jump wise they r sick and hav tons of pop.... they r bomb proof cept that they scratch, chip, and detune very easy.... great for bumps.... great all mountain ski go wit htem
