Chronics vs. CRJ 1080 Pros

I'm getting new skis soon, and I can't decide between the Chronics or the 1080 CR Johnson Pro Models. I want a stiffer ski than my 04 Fujatives, but I still ski mostly in the park. I'm 6'3'' about 185 lbs. What's the better ski? If I go with the Chronics, what length do I need?

 
why would you buy the CRs...those are like the ugliest ski in the world

THE CR'S SUCK THE FOAM CORE GIVES OUT ON ICE AND THEY LOOSE CAMBER QUITE QUICKLEY ID GO WITH THE CHRONICS FULL WOOD CORE WITH CARBON OLLIE BAND

the normal 177 chrons will be too small pour toi.

look into the chron wides.... or maybe another ski? If you don;t want to limit yourself to Salomon and Line.... unless your getting a deal-o

no they're not, chronic wides are stiff as fuck, get the 187. salomons may be stiff at first (i'll give them that just for the sake of argument) but they'll pack out so quick, and the edges aren't nearly as strong as the rockwells

yeah my friend broke his CRs less than a month in, he rides super hard but hes only like 5' 10'' and 175 or so id guess

i'm sure 99% of this site knows that jon gets laid more than 99% of this site. --strode420
 
will i be able to butter and spin alright with the 187 chronic wide? even though I'm tall, 187 seems kind of long considering i spend most of my time in the park? will i be alright to center mount a 187 chronic wide? what are other good slopestyle skis considering my 6'3'' height?

 
go with the biggest chronics because i have the crons and they are beast and i love them. they are durable and just kick ass. they are stiff but hold up in the park too and just are sick skis so get them

 
Yes you will be able to , it will be hard the first time maybe after 3 or 4 days on them it should be easier. You only have to break them in.

 
no, salomon bindings suck, a lot. i like reactors, evryone hates on those though, the look/rosi bindings aren't going to be turntable next year, look into the 4front bindings, they're pretty nice

too short for u! get something around 190, Seth Pistols whatever is closest to 190 would b PERFECT for you!

good choice with the chrons therr, but really, they're perfect with a reactor binding...get a reactor 10 for you, it's really cheap at jibij

Dude, I'm the exact same size/weight as you and I'm having a hard time choosing park skis for next season too. For long twins that aren't ridiculously fat, all that's available really is the Chronic Wide 187, Seth Pistol/Vicious 190, ARV 185 and Big Trouble 186. I'm going to flex and demo what I can first but the Chronic Wides seem a pretty much perfect ski for our size. Everyone is saying they're pretty stiff but if you're 195lbs they'll be nice I'm sure. Pistols would be another good choice probably - you see Pep and Abma riding them in the park, and they'd be sweet all round. Vicious is meant to be stiffer next year so probably wouldn't be as good in the park.

Most likely I'm going to get Chronic Wides 187cm for park and something big like Maidens or JP/Juliens for powder days, if I can afford it.
