Chronics; Bombproff?

So they say the chronic skis are bomb proff. as of now i think that is bull shit because the side above the edge is starting to strip, it kinda looks like when you take a knife down the side of a piece of wood, kinda a big sliver, i will try to post a pic in the mornignt. has anyone else had something like this with their skis. also it wasnt from a rail cause i dont do rails, and for boxes it isnt even the side of the ski that i would slide, on.

yeah, just put some epoxy in the cutts, or stop whining and realize skiing has more to it than worrieing about how good you look

Line skis are suppose to be super resistant eventough I heard that some of the chronics had to go back to SAV for small fabrication default. But you seem to have hit a rock or over using it on rails.

no ski can be bomb proof. are you guys idiots? the things would weigh so fucken much itd be ridiculous

I seriously think my Scratches are... 03's and still not one sign of cracking edges. Oh and I hit rails on a regular basis, more so than jumps right now.

ya i think its the coat of shit on hte ski that strips really easy because i have some pretty sharp edges and when i cross it can see where i crossed soemtimes. the topsheets just blow they dont scratch just come out in huge slivers and gashes

ya i have the same problem with mine...i am just gunna epoxy them up....its ajust a cosmetic thing and shouldnt effect the ride of the ski at all....i was thinking about sending em back for warranty...but its too much of a hassle

bangor, 2 years isnt good for bindings

chips in your ski dont mean shit, its one thing to have an edge come off but stop complainging about ships, wou will get a new pair or break the ski in half before the wood core rots from moisture

well i am not sending them back, i was thinking about appoxing them, but right now is the middle fo the ski season and i am going to keep them,, but that is what i was thinking of them catching an edge somehow. my bigger concern would be if moisture got into the slit. would that weaken the skis?

it shouldn't weaken the skis too much. they are designed to be used in cold weather and snow. and when snow melts, it's water. put some gorrilla glue in the edge and clamp it really tight. it'll hold well, just make sure it's clamped because it expands like crazy and that'd fuck your skis up even more if the glue pushed the edges out when it dried

yeah, old school salomons are tanks as well. my 6 year old verses have finally started to break, after rail and rock abuse. and grass skiing last spring.

the old blue/yellow 1080's are beasts, i still see some of those around........

but, my chronics are quite sick. and they seem to have a fairly thick base, because i've got some deep gouges that haven't hit the core.......

my old madtrix's have that going on, i think its from the edge of the opposite ski rubbing

Let us have a revolution

chronics are still great skis, super light, with no swing weight. the difference is really noticable from my scratches
