i am looking into getting a new ski to replace my volkl ledges. and i am stuck between chronics or stepup? Apparently the 2013 chronic is suposed to be really good.

help me

I work at a ski shop and got to use both and i owned this years chronics...my entire sidewall on the chronics came off... plus next years rocker is really sketchy if your not on a rail/box. The stepup is alright i guess but i now use Surface double times and i would highly recommend them, people hate on Surface but when i comes down to it they are probably the best

the afterbang and the step up are very similair. the difference is the step up has an extra sheet of carbon olliband (for a stiffer ski with more pop) and it has a faster base. the step up is basically the juming version of the afterbang. the chronic is a much different ski. but from what i hear, is much better!

The new chronics have capwall (a lot like armada) and they're a lot lighter supposedly, but the Stepup could be faster with the race base on the 2012s. What kind of snow are you in? Both should be super stable

Abangs are full skatedeck. Stepups are deckwall, which is sidewall underfoot and skatedeck in the tip and tail.
