The idea is in its infancy.. Skier Only.. Age Groups and an Open

Class? Need to finalize by end of summer before budgets are used up.

I

have tons of contacts with Sponsors now and if we start early we should

get something together now for when everyone is home for the holidays

together. Tom/Amplid - Steve/Jibij - Brogan/Jibberish - Seany/Libtech,

Nips/Salomon - KT/Nestors Obviously I can get Big Boulder and possibly

NS involved.

I think it would be a great idea for everyone to get back together. Think big..

Any input, ideas or criticism?

it sounds like a sick event. is ian up for letting skiers jsut take over the park for a full day over christmas break when the mountain will be at its busiest? i definetly like the idea and it would be sick if you could get even just one of those companies to show up and sponsor it.

yeah so i posted this in RRforum, and papa told me to sling it over here too...

I think it would be sick to do this absolutely. Slopestyle during the day...rail jam at night type thing.

The problem with boulder park(and this is purely due to the size of the

hill), is that it is difficult to have a legit slopestyle course with

rails sprinkled in. But i think if you did a two options for rails at

the top, and then on the side of jump one place another rail, then two

big jumps, it could work out well.

And then for a rail jam just use the plaza, which is always sick.

Basically, you could create the type of buzz the transAm got with

boulder's facility, and for a mountain that from all that i have seen,

lacks a ski scene(its mostly brogan, sean, pat, and nipples right?),

you could really do some great things with the comp.

Or i think it would be sick to have like a 3 hour jam. have judges

placed randomly around boulder park and the plaza, and then let kids

session whatever they want, and have an overall impression factor

deciding the winner.

the three hour jam where the judges are just sprinkled around sounds like sick and also probably the best option for bb considering size.

sounds like a legit idea...similar to battle my crew type thing?? or is it just compete for yourself

i hadnt really thought about it, but personally, i've always wanted to do a team style event, and the jam thing could lend itself to incorperating it.

and btw, i'm just throwing out ideas haha. i have no authority on the matter. plus i live 4 hours away from bb, and won't be around for this comp sadly.

i think battle my crew type style would be wayyy cool of course you would have the boulder guys then maybe sno mtn ppl/ 7 springs/ ohio/ etc etc think it could make for a grand day

and maybe some redbull girls :)

i'm with that for sure. or any type of jam format slopestyle for that matter. regardless, this event needs to happen and put skiing in PA/big boulder more on the map than it already is. I know we're all talking, and obviously papa...ahem, grandpa is the ringleader, but we need to make sure this actually happens.

Sounds aweeeeeeeesome! I'll be around to help in December as needed so let me know if there is anything I can do to help! Promote it, or whatever.

What about pushing it to Martin Luther King Weekend? that way it would be like a whole weekend of schralping, cuz people would come and stay for the weekend, rather than do a day trip because of family time over christmas break.

plus then i could go...

I was just thinking that the stoke of kids home from School would really help the vibe and success. Thats why I think Christmas.. Also for the last 2 years there has been a large off site rail jam on tha tweekend hosted by Buckmans.

you should have a "throw down for your home town" contest.

teams from all different mountains, everyone rocks shit from their home mountain, and winners get bragging rights...and hopefully prizes

that would be sick and all, but there is only one other person from my hill who would ride.

a battle my crew type thing would be sick, or just everyone for themselves would be sick as well.

i just think it would be cool to have a dope jam sesh for like 3 hrs and overall impression wins.

naaa boulder needs sometype of like slopestyle contest on there big jumps or sometin like that. They already have the friday night thing as there rail jam. Plus like every resort in the pocoooonos has a rail jam noone has slopestyle comps. Itd also be sick if they had like different age divisions and then like an open division and the winner of that gets a large check or somtin like that

or not idk.

Boulder is a hike for me, but has always been well worth the drive as long as the jumps are what they were last year. I am sure a lot of people will show up if the jumps are what they were last Christmas break.

yea it is

theyd have one rail at the top of the run the three jumps and then one or two more rails in the plaza or something like that.

exactly. down rail, 40-50-60, one or two more rails would be pretty standard and fun and would definitely fit on boulder. VTO two years ago was exacly that but w/ four jumps. rail option, 4 jumps, rail option. Course was fun, no doubt boulder could do something similar. i really hope this happens.

i still really like the team aspect. the team comp they did two years ago was tons of fun, and with the park being even better than it was before, with more support from the skier side of things in general, could be a really cool event.

just bumping to get some more attention to this. anything new going on? we're halfway through september, and we're gonna be skiing in two months or less, it's probably time to start trying to put something together.

off topic... But I saw on boulder's myspace that theyre doing the team challenge again this season, maybe if we start early we can push for separate divisions or somethin ehhhhhh? Which reminds me Justin, how did that go last season? Did you and Kev go in?

Didn't do the "team comp" last year. from what i remember it was only snowboarders? and they announced it only like a week or two before the actual comp. I'm stoked that they're doing it again this year. The one two years ago was soooo much fun.

^yea it was so much fun, or at least as much fun as is possible with macdonald on your team hahaaaa
but it seemed a little rushed last year. I def would love to do it again if it will be like the one from two seasons ago

couldnt agree more. such a fun vibe with everyone pushing each other for a team as opposed to just individual. hopefully this happens.

i am making sure i have a 'sick day' that day. are you gonna be around this year ben? i figured you and matt would be goin out to CO this season?

Meeting this weekend to finalize details. If you know of any potential sponsors who would like a piece of this, please let me know. There are no levels as of yet, so any contributions will get exposure through out the promotion of the event.

In the morning I propose everyone go off in groups.

So far the group leaders are

Tom Wallicsh

Steve Stepp

Jon Brogan

Sean Jordan

Steven Larick

If you are a sponsored rider and are interested in participating or if you want to help out with this event in the form of setting up, organization or afternoon judging let me know.

The idea is, shred in the morning in groups. the groups vote to select who moves on to finals - everyone elese can compete slopestyle in the afternoon based on age categories.

Post here with Questions.

excellent. i'd love to help/compete/be involved in some way shape or form. I'll see what i can do about getting some support from sponsors.

that sounds like a sick idea. i love the group set up for it. i'm not good enough to enter but i'll happily help out in any other way like spreading the word and what not.

if you are good enough to get on and off the lift then you are good enough to enter.

The whole idea is to ride around in the morning with a group and have fun sessioning features, get some tips and..... if you want, in the afternoon, go up against others similar to your age in a slopestyle to see where you stack up.

helllll yea, this sounds sick psteeze. so morning, just fun sessions scheduled on different features? (kinda like the first team comp) and then in the afternoon a jam style slopestyle, with the top x amount in a final?
