I ski the east. east coast ice. lucklily for me i am skiing Jackson Hole over christmas break. for people who have skiied this area over past christmased, do you think they will have powder, BC, tree skiing and such by christmas? Will they have a park?
I really haven't skiied out west that much, so if this is a ridiculous question by any means, i apologize.

If the conditions keep up as they are, there won't be much of a difference b/w the east coast and Jackson... However, we usually have good snow around the end of december thru january. they plan on opening the new tram on the 20th, so if that's the case, the mountain would be open top to bottom by then, but we'll see about that. then as far as park skiing goes, the scene is usually pretty weak around here regardless of snow conditions. right now, they have been focusing so much on making snow for the trails that they haven't really had a chance to build a park. but the word around here is that we aren't going to have a big park anyway, only a beginner and intermediate parks. but no word on when they will open any of those... hope this helps.

The snow is kind of shit-tastic everywhere right now, so let's hope for all of our sake that things get better soon.

would the condish be so bad as to bring out an old pair of rock skiis as well as my new skis, and brave the airline costs?

This depends on how much your new skis are worth to you. Plus anything could happen before your trip.

There is more or less no snow unless you get super high. There are two runs open off AV, and then the green run on Teewinot. It would have to snow a good 4-5 feet for much without snow making to open.

So I heard a rumor that other day that's been "somewhat" confirmed by a couple of people. I'd heard that Burton is in the works of sponsoring a park in JH. It would be a park inspired by the mountain's natural features and be spread out around the hill. Apparently. this is still in the works and is far from confirmed, so we'll see what happens. No further word on the expert park but the beginner park will be moved under Teewinot and the intermediate park will be moved in between the gondola and eagle's rest where the beginner was last year but will on the opposite side in the sun... Keep you posted if I hear anything else. Otherwise, things are looking a bit better with this snow and the tram is set to open this weekend.

every lift including the tram is supposed to open on the 20thso psyched maybe a decent park soonthey have the mini park open on teewinot i think, it has like 3 features... kinda sucks
