thats a carved turn.

you cannot pressure your skis that way while switch because your legs dont bend that way. so you cant even argue with that.

 
hahahahaha....carving a ski is carving a ski....pressuring your edge isn't what makes a carve. im pretty sure if you lean any ski over, it will 'carve a turn' (besides the old ass wood skis...)
 
close, but you have it mixed up. just tipping the ski over is known as "railing turns". pressuring the front of the ski, engaging the edge up there, than having the rest of the edge follow in the path "carved' by the tip of the ski is whats known as "carving" a turn.
 
i dont think every single skier presures their ski in the exact same spot ,then every single person would look exaclty like everybody else.
 
racings not gay and i'm not saying i'd get into but it's fun just to dick around and fly down trails sometimes or fly through gates
 
this thread is so messed up i don't even know where to start

so im just gonna say, im an instructor, carving techincally right is fucking difficult, and for that matter carving switch on a pair of twins is impossible, don't get me wrong, ive seen people rail twins while skiing switch, but to 'carve' like you would on some race skis going forward is impossible on noodles. its hard enough to carve properly on twins going forward.

haha ya that was harsh and funny to see....matty and me were standing on the rocks filming at the time....and we filmed like one shot of him and it wasnt the one where he had the collision or we coulda shown it......but he wasn't hurt.....the next day he jsut had a bruise on his knee and was hitting the pipe like a champion.

i used to race and i can say that its boring as hell and nobody goes 80 mph unless there downhill racers and most ppl arnt and any racer racing through the park deservers to be ass fucked by an angry gang of sumo wrestlers
 
all this shit saying racers are gay is bullshit considering chris raced for many years before going over to freeskiing
 
i hate racing....yes i can say it cause i did it for 5 years. All the kids i raced with were stuck up cocky little bitches that think they own the whole goddamn mountain.

 
im sure its safe to say that almost all of the kids on this site suck dick at skiing in general. so no one should be talking poop. only a few like me, acn actually master the art of the carve. peep my video for that...
 
as a racer you can't do that. you gotta respect the park, so that the freestylers won't come down your courses. that really sucks, hope he has a fast recovery!!
 
railing a turn is just carving done wrong. but its still carving. carving is what the ski does in the snow not what your body is doing.
