Choppy Motion

It seems like all the edits I've been filming lately look strange in that the motion in the shots from my DSLR looks almost choppy or jumpy. Here's an example:

This was filmed on my T2i with most of the shots (except the low light ones) using the following settings:

720p 60fps

ISO: 100

Shutter Speed: 100-200

Aperature: f16-18

Is it my settings that's making the shots look choppy or is it something I'm doing in post? Is my shutter speed too high or does it have something to do with the framerate of the footage? Any help would be gladly appreciated.

are you talking about the slow motion or just the regular motion of the video in general?

when you shoot at 60 fps, a "normal" shutter speed would be about 1/120 (for 30fps - 1/60 and 24fps - 1/48 or 1/50). its relating to the general rule to where about double the frame rate is pleasing. any faster could make the footage look choppy when you pan or follow cam because the higher the shutter, the less motion blur. and anything less than that speed will look more flowy and blurry because there will be excessive motion blur.

for the slow motion, if you want it to be smooth, its best to shoot at 60fps and conform the footage to play back at either 29.97 or 24 fps. the way to do that depends on your software.

hope this helps some

ok yeah that helps. and i guess it doesnt look that choppy on a small player, but when you watch full screen most of the clips look pretty choppy

How did you create your slow motion? what are you timeline settings? export settings?
