Wats up everyone,

I am interested in getting some new skis for the upcoming season, need help in what size. I ride in Northern california, I ride Park all day so interested in a park ski, I am a level 3+ skier, I am 5'8 160lbs, and I dont really got a budget. What do guys think? also some binding advice would be good too.

thanks

Mike

^ So probably not PMgear then? Hahaha.

I'm always gonna say that whatever you're leaning toward, take 10 minutes to check out On3p's site and the filthy rich, which would work for you. I'm sure the Alpha 1 will get some love as an alternative as well.

ay Skifishbum suck cock!

I want somethin that has rocker, but is still stiff enough to hit some large jumps. I think the alpha 1 is down that alley, but just wanted some other suggestions. And how much bigger should you get a rocker ski because of the shorter turning radius?

K2 domains are sick the k2 jib rocker is super legit i rode revivals last year and they were super sick. K2's are also super durable the edges crack but never blow out! size wise with K2 id go 179 in the domain cuz they only make it in three sizes this year. the recoil is super sick it replaced the revival this year it doesnt have the jib rocker so it has some camber this year but still has early rise in the tip and tail so it give it more of a rocker feeling and size wise would be better for you cuz they do run longer than what they say so id go with a 174 in the recoil it measures out to about 179 180ish the domains are the same so k2 the recoil would be ur best bet. this year im gonna be riding line afterbangs its one of the most durable skis out and super stable on big jumps only minus is they are a little heavier but will definitely hold up for a few seasons. Line skis are pretty true to size aswell! hope this helped a bit!

dude shut up...im sure your just a professional arnt you! NOT! any kid that says shit like this probably sits around his house with his thumb up his ass all day rubbing one out to gay porn. the kid asked for advice dick head help him out instead of being an ignorant douche bag!

Line step up sounds like its right in ur wheelhouse, and as far as bindings go i'd look at the salomon sth 14 driver, which is about $250, and is a super solid binding.

New Ski eh? Lucky sob!

Okay listen go to your local ski shop talk to the guys there and they will help you decide. They can asses which ski would be good for you height weight and ability. If you are still unsure come back to the forums a research a few models that your local ski shop suggested.

This is a foulproof way to ensure you use your hard earn cash to get an appropriate ski for you.

Good luck

Get armada halos/alpha ones. they are insanely playful, so sick off jumps, their swing weight is amazing, i 360d a 6inch tall bump, and the rocker helps a ton if you want to ride pow, i cant reccomend these enough. Halo if you are doing park specifically though, but if you like to keep it real in the trees and elsewhere, then get alpha 1s they are stiffer.

CooL Cool guys thanx for the Help guys, I actually Have been doing a lot of research and I have called around to a few shops. I feel like i am an expert skier on groomers and hitting black n double black diamonds, but I wouldnt say i am an expert in the park, I can hit 40-50ft booters, n i can 360 20 to 30ft jumps and I can slide all size rails, and some large ones. So i dont think an expert park ski is what i need. Although I have been training on trampolines all summer and Im looking to doing some flat spins, back flips, fronts, and rodeo 5's this year. I wanna ride park all day, Im not worried about all mountain.

Skis I have looked at that I thought were a possibilty:

Fat-ypus: G-butter, Majesty: Rock n rolla or comic, Liberty: LTE, Scott: jib punisher, Armada: AR-7, T-hall, Rossignol: S4 scratch, Dynastar: 6th sense distorter

These skis look like they had some decent to pretty good reviews, I feel like I dont need the lIne-stepup or like the Ace of spades, because I am not going to be hittin 60- 100ft booters all the time, Shit i want to, but I wont be able to buss a 360 mute of them.

I need a playful ski, yet stable enough to stomp 60 footers

Anyways what do you guys think? looks like skis are selling quick right now.

Also who makes the Blue steele?

Get alpha ones they are pimp for everything! Sorry I know you weren't considering them but I got them thikning I would only ski park, i ended up doing 80% all mountain (bumps, cliffs, pow, crud ) and 20% park. THey slay everything. I love them i love them i love them.

Okay I am done. Sorry about that.

Not a bad idea to ask help at a ski shop but it doesnt actually work out most of the time. Everyone asks about ability and not many kids can honestly give their ability and no one knows what kind of terrain you ski better than you. Plus you would be surprised that most of people in the shops dont know half as much as kids on this website. That being said the alpha 1 is a clear cut choice, I am 5'10" 145lbs and i ski the 182. They have enough rocker to be above average in all mountain and pow ability despite a 81-83mm wiast. But they shine in the park, especially if your a better skier who throws bigger spins, flips, and loves spinning in and out of rails. If your trying to learn stuff than the halo is a good choice. But the race base on the alpha 1 is money. I cannot recommend them enough, i would suggest jesters of griffons, but it depends on were you like your dins, and how long you plan on keeping them

You will be fine on either ski but I strongly recommend the 182 if your a better skier. If you want to be a little more solid on bigger hits, better on groomers, and better in pow than the 182 is a clear choice. Ya the alpha 1s ski really short, especially when you get them in the air. Dont worry about being able to get spins around with the 182, because the alphas are made to be thrown around, if your an agressive skier the 182 is a clear choice, but if you dont charge all mountain, and dont hit big hits than the 176 is your choice, they will be money on small parks, if your trying to get big spins that have no business being thrown than the 176 is for you
