Choosing salomons

whats your weight around? your height? do u live outwest? eastcoast?...gotta provide a little more info

Suspects in a 176 look sick. Should be good. A bit stiffer, but a bit more park oriented.

suspects are sick skis nothing against them but if your not a park rat and ski conditions that are like whistler go with the lords if u want a skinnier ski that kills it all around i rode them amazing even tho i rode them on the eascoast loved it or u could check out the czar dont no much about it tho

^ yea like him, suspect, lord or czar.

dont be afraid of the 'rocker' on the czar, its tiny. barely even come into play

Salomon's aren't the same anymore, most of their skis are way stiffer and woodcore. So I diagree with youre comment.

And to answer the thread question I would say that if you get Whistler type conditions I would suggest the Czar hands down or the Lord.

If you're a jib rat then Dumont, Suspects, Threats in that order of stoke and budget.

I have heard bad things about the woodcore ones too, but i have not personally ridden them, and not all woodcore skis are stiff.

Actually, fuck it.

Go with the Armada AR6. Sick ski. Shreds the park and not too bad outside either. Unless your die hard Salomon, which I'm definitely not.

I'm considering one of their bindings though, STH 14 perhaps.

I just picked up the CZAR (82) if u get dumped on like whistler I would go with it. Handles pretty much anything, plus you won't be giving anything up on a pow day, has 62cm early rise. Surprisingly skis hardpack fairly well, due to traditional camber, although slight, over most of the ski. Work at a shop, got to demo new stuff last year, on a bulletproof day : ( If you ski hard you should be able to handle the 82 fairly well, but a 74 wouldn't be bad either. Didn't ski the Lord, so I don't know. Remeber, in an All Mountain ski WIDER IS BETTER. Let me know what you decide.

most versatile Salomon is 1080, Wide enough to float and now wood core to take abuse. Maybe the 161 length or if u wan more float 171. This will all mtn, pipe, park and groomer & powder. The Salomon GUN is about 10mm wider so if u want more capability for deep stuff. Suspect & Dumont have a more drastic sidecut but are park, groomer and pipe oriented. Lord & Czar are more big mtn than park..both rockered for float. A more softer pow ski usually works better in slush, wet stuff and skier chop.

Pick the conditions u want to ski. Pick a ski.

the 1080 aniversery ski. I was looking at it in my shop its got a nice flex was considered an all mountain twintip. I think it would the perfect ski if your looking for somthing to do everything on. It was also cheaper then the suspect. You probaly want 171 in length.

lords or czars. i wasnt a huge fan of how the czars skied, bit squirrelly. the czars on the other hand road epic, but might be a bit too wide? u should be ok with them, but its a personal preference. the gun wouldnt be bad either, that kinda splits the difference between the two, but is more freestyle oriented

if i were you i would get the foils the float nice in pow and are the best twintips for groomers and there good for park i road them last year
