What's up NS?

I have a radio show at my school this semester. We are trying to do themes for each week to keep it spicy and unique.

The show is "golden age" hip hop (late 80's to ~2001 roughly).

Some themes we have so far: Dead artists, groups-only, east coast, west coast, solo-artists, but I think we need roughly 4 or 5 more themes for shows.

What do you suggest NS?

K+ to all

-dirty south rap

-bits that focus on powerhouse producers like pharrell(neptunes), dr. dre, alchemist, etc.

-druggy rap

-mac dre because he's mac dre

-reggae rap

-best kanye collabs

-experimental hip hop

-female rappers

-rappers that act also

-shock value rap (eminem, odd future, etc)

I think that you should definitely try to mix in some underground rap. There are lots of talented rap artist out there whose music is not well known. Also old school, famous rappers, bounce, and if your really looking to diversify it add some Latin rap or rap from different cultures.

you could do

dirty south

chopped and screwed

different songs with same beat

midwest rap

trap

foreign hip-hop

you could probably do hella more if you included the 00's and 10's

got a link to your show?

"Underground" rap is as broad a topic as the "golden age."

I would say beefs, actual hip hop vs. rap, or pick one year specifically.

Imagine this - 'OP PRESENTS: Rappers who went soft: An Ice Cube Extravaganza'

Start with his deep cuts and slowly progress into sound bites from Are We There Yet?
