Choose my camcorder

Hey all,

I recently came across some money and im lookin to put it towards a good HD camcorder. I'm lookin to spend anywhere between $800 and $1500.

It has to be high-def and it has to have a hard drive (the bigger the better). And also, it should have fairly advanced features, in other words, not a beginner camera.

I tried finding a camcorder review site, but it seems there isnt a legit comprehensive one, like dpreview for DSLRs.

Thanks for the help.

forgot to add that, i probably won't take it skiing.

if im putting that much money into a camera, i dont wanna do something high-risk with it.

also, what are the advantages and disadvantages of flash mem vs. HDD?

high risk = slaming camera on an ice hard deck, launching the battery and wideangle off. Of course, still works :)

I lol'edSeriously though I will give you a couple ideaSolid State AVCHD(you will need a powerful computer for AVCHD) Canon hfs100Tape HDV: Canon hv30Mebay a sony fx1 not to sure about the pricing on those though.

if your not gonna be using it for skiing why get an hvx??? if your gonna like film nature or something get an hv40 or somethin really solid camera and not to expensive
