Chipped Bases Help

So Ive been riding my summer setup and yesterday.... My pvc pipe cracked and chipped a peice of my base off. I'm really worried and was wondering if this could be an easy fix if I would take it to a shop? (The chip is about half an inch in diameter, I can see a little of the core but the core is completely untouched)

Thanks guys and I really appreciate all the answers!!!

this exactly happened to me man and i freaked out too, don't worry! my core shot was about the same size as yours and the shop filled the gouge in with base material and i haven't noticed a difference. if its really bad maybe talk to them about doing a base weld, but it sounds like your gouge was similar to mine so don't worry. it should be fine.

take your skis into the shop and they should have them done in a couple of days.

If you want more opinoions, I know their are a few dudes on NS who work at shops for a living and know the best way to fix this stuff. post a picture and they will be able to help you a lot better

Should be a relatively simple fix for a competent ski tech.

They'll probably just melt some ptex into it and send you on your way - personally I prefer a base patch if there's core showing.

Grab some of the 6-pack rings from drinks, gas stations have a ton and might give you some. But anyway melt that down and pour it on the spot. Should do the trick.

ive actually tried this. it works somewhat as a ptex repair, but will not stay in if its a core shot
