Chipboard vs. Plywood

Im looking to make a whale tale box soon. I can get alot of cut up beams and 2x4s at a local construction site (out of the dumpster)so most of the rail will be free but i have to buy some plywood or chipboard.

i havent priced out the chipboard at homedepot or lowes yet but i assume its cheaper than plywood but i was wondering if it is cheaper? i was also wondering if anybody has tried this and how has it worked out?
 
chipboard is cheaper, but plywood is better, iv made one and i used plywood, and it worked good, i would suggest plywood because chipboard isn't even that much cheaper and plywood is better
