Chinese gymnastic "women"

it's not just the chinese dude. i don't know about 12 year olds, but most country's girls gymnastics squads have some youngins. i think there's a 15 year old on US. i'm sure there's younger ones on other teams too.

ya theyre 20 yr old looks like a 12 yr old....u cant compete if ur under 16 though they like just said that on tv...the world champion shawn johnson is 16...not to bad lookin either

shes bangin, and shes 4 foot 8 making her a legal midget by 4 inches, like wtf she could suck a dick standing up

i don't trust the sports that involve judging in these olympics, i think the Chinese would've paid off any judges that they could to increase their chances of having the most overall medals. did anybody watch the middleweight boxing match between the ukraine guy and the chinese guy? that was pretty biased, but the ukrainian destroyed the chinese guy so he won anyway.

despite the fact that she's not hot, she also looks like she is 10 years old. and shes legally a midget.

They have to turn of legal competing age (16) within the Olympic year. During the parade of nations, one country had a 15 year old, but he can still participate because he was turning 16 within the coming months, thus making him still eligible.

It's like the issues they have with the Little League World Series in baseball or whatever. They get kids playing from these countries and they saaaaay they're such and such an age but then they're like 18. I know the Chinese people are known to be that of a shorter stature, but facially and physically, these girls look yoooung. They make the American girls look so beefy when we all know they're more muscular than most of our country. It's something to look into. I don't mean to judge, but there's been so many weird things going on in that country, from deaths to rules and all that jazz. Just my 2.

i would with out thinking

but im her age so its ok

one of the us is from a town near me

i forgot her name tho

wow, to those guys who were saying shawn johnson is hot, how old are you? she looks like she's 8, i'm 16 and i'd feel like a pedophile if i even touched her...wow.

yea, me and my mom were wondering about that. we also though about who cares of the age? if a 12 year old is better than a 20 year old, dang, then she deserves to win, i really dont see why age should hold back great atheletes. but then we thought about it, and thought maybe that those atheletes will be pushed too hard, and be forced into it.

Yeah I was just watching that. It's so obvious some of those chinese girls aren't 16 it's amazing they can get away with it. Linlin or whatever looks 12.

What's more disturbing than the developmentally challenged and questionably elgible athletes, was the creepy stock footage of small Chinese children being forced into back bends by "handlers" at the ripe old age of 3.

Now I understand that this is superficially comparable to washed up prom queens slathering their daughters in whore make-up, and forcing them to butcher Leann Rimes songs in order to feel superior to other vain and insecure mothers in Bumbelfuck, Texas, but come on...

China literally begins "shaping" their athletes during toddlerdom. Eww.

hahaha, you saying "but come on..." doesn't make a point. i think the comparison of chinese parents forcing athleticism upon their children is no different than western parents forcing any number of things from athletics to modelling on their children.

what really gets me about most chinese people though is how close-minded they are to the rest of the world. not that they really have a choice, what with all of the censorship their government enforces. trust me, if you grew up in china you would have no way of knowing that what you were doing was considered unnacceptable by the rest of the planet, because the chinese government doesn't allow western traditions to tangle with chinese traditions.

i pity everyone in china, and everyone who is ignorant to the chinese situation.

the oldest Chinese "woman" who is supposedly 20 looks like she might be 17, especially compared to some of the American women. She was probably 13-14 during the Athens Olympics and now they once again have to lie about how old she is.

and the young girls look they are 10 and are years away from approaching puberty and womanhood. It may not seem like having younger girls on the team would be an advantage but my cousin who at one point was close to qualifying for the Olympics said a lot of girls peak at young ages and then lose their talents when they mature, so it's very unfair that China is abusing a system which is very difficult to police (especially when you are the host nation). It's especially unfair to those young girls from other countries who are missing out because of limits which obviously aren't universally followed.

My point is that the pageant scene represents a relatively mild gradient on the "parental crimes against children scale" relative to forcibly curving your offspring's spine in order to increase the likelihood of a solid back bend.

I don't know...call it Westerner's Bias or whatever but there's something undeniably human, albeit it tragic, about an overbearing father little-league coach. We all know that that guy is living vicariously through his poor son, in a feeble attempt to erase his own failures. On the other hand, molding Olympic athletes as a bid for world domination as opposed to personal glory is just downright creepy by comparison.

i agree with you, it is harsh to "mold" their kids. but who's around to tell them any different? you've got to understand that in china, television will suddenly blank out. not because of poor reception, but because there's something there that the government doesn't want you to know about. they'll be watching a foreign news station, and the anchor might say something like "and in today's news, china..." and the screen suddenly blacks out and the audio suddenly quits. and in about a minute or so, it just goes back to normal. they even have control over what pages can be visited on the internet.

to be honest, it sickens me to know that the olympics are being held there. it just goes to show how much of a joke the people who run them today really are. i'm willing to bet that the chinese can only get coverage of the events their country was awarded a medal in.

like i said before, i pity them.

dude. that aerobatic stuff they do is a part of their tradition. they did a special on it during one of the event breaks. girls want to become that because of the limited freedom they get otherwise. their parents don't mold them because a lot of them dont have parents in the first place. shits sad but it isnt like a little league parent at all.

Woah, this thread just officially passed my seriousness threshold. Clearly the sitiuation in China is grave, I was attempting to bring a little levity.

clearly you've never seen a little league parent scream and yell at their kid for missing a catch...it really isn't any different there. about a month ago i saw an american polocrosse team that was made up of a mom, a dad, and their kid. they showed up at the event, and this mom was looking to prove how great her family was. when they lost, i saw the mom yelling at her kid and blaming him for the loss, while the dad just sort of backed off and let it happen. later on i saw the kid crying, probably because of what his mom yelled at him about.

i'd rather see a chinese orphan work all their lives to be an olympian than see that "team" again. there are shitty people everywhere in the world, but at least the chinese have an excuse.

i dont think he's saying one is worse at least in that post. i think he's just saying that the chinesse athletes push themselves that hard not, their parents.

exactly and im talkin about any form of acrobatic display and not polo. its their culture and its an honor for them to be able to do that shit. you see it as brutal but they see it as something great.

theyve all been lifting and working out since they were 6 so all their growth is stunted and their hormones are all fucked up

Exactly. When they hit puberty it becomes difficult for them to adjust to there growing and changing bodies. It results in loss of cordination. Also changing levels of hormones can mess with their abilities. For the most part the younger, the better in gymnastics.
