China vs. Windells

Hello NS,

I know that it's winter and its too early for summer skiing discussion. I have a dilemma that you may find ridculous. I have saved up enough money. But i will only be able to go to windells or a trip to china. This makes me seem like a spoiled
brat, complaining about why i cant have everything. However, the real problem is that I can't decide between doing what I love (skiing) and furthering my knowledge of the chinese language and culture. please help me decide.

My friend went to china and he dead most of it suked, it dirty every where, smells bad, he did say some parts were cool, but not worth it. Go to windells

I just spent 3 weeks in China this past summer, it was a truly awesome experience. Opened my eyes to a completely new society and culture

But then again... Windells would be dope

Is this even a question? Go to China.

A lot of retarded ignorant responses in this thread.

ps: I do live in Shanghai. This is an amazing country with a truly mind blowing history and culture. Sure it's different than what you're used to, but what you will experience there has no price. Challenge yourself, adapt, learn as much as you can. You will end up a better person.

If everybody would travel abroad a bit more and exit their confort zone once in a while, this world would be a better place.

Yea man, pay $100 more than any other nationality for a visa because you are from the USA. Fantastic. Want to go to Tibet? Join an expensive tour group. Western China? oops, have to get a liaison officer. Awesome stuff! I love smog!

This.

Skiing is awesome and I don't know what I would do without it, but you have all winter to ski. Go check out another part of the world.

im not trying to start a whole windells vs mhssc arguement here but im tired of ignorant fucks saying "mhssc is so much better than windells!" or "windells is so much better then whatever else fucking exists out there!" when 80% of the time you have never ben to the camp you are bashing on, and yes i did pull that statistic out of my ass but you should understand the point. if you have been to both mhssc and windells, then please, enlighten us with reinforcement to your statement on how much better one camp i to the other. if you have not been to windells, then you cannot compare the two.

What i can say is that i have been to only windells and it was a great time with a sick park, chill staff and dope campus, i reccomend you check it out sometime.

Step away from the stereotypes about china, it really is an amazing place. I have 4 adopted sisters from china, each trip I went on was 3 weeks at a minimum there traveling all over the country. This past summer was my 5th trip and I was still blown away by the culture and the experience as a whole. Nearly every person I've encountered there was extremely friendly and nice, far more than I've ever experienced here in America. I've never once felt threatened or scared over there. once you get past the obvious problems there you discover how amazing of a place it truly is

And the OP: Go to china, its a once in a lifetime experience, you'll come back with a completely new view of the world

my bad, wrong choice for words

your just ignoring all the amazing things about the place and focusing on the obvious problems

So what? every country has its bad side. You think America is perfect?

- Big fucking deal you need to pay 100$ more.

- Tiber? Well flash news to you, you can go there by yourself, it's as easy as its get. I was there 2 month ago.

- Smog ? Los Angeles much?

Those are weak reason to hate on a country.

I haven't been to Windells. But I have friends who have gone to both Windells and MHSSC. And they have agreed with everyone else, it's basically the same deal, but you get to be a pro-hoe and spend nearly 1000$ more depending on the session or whatever. So if you can somehow get a bit more scratch and work things out the right way. You may be able to go to China and MHSSC for a session. Idk, I'm tired as fuck, /semi-rant.

If I was going that far, I would go a little further and go skiing in Japan. (Assuming you could also make this trip in winter.)

woodward at copper is sick but simply can't compare to windell's based off the fact that it's not on a legitimate glacier. the setup they have is nowhere near as good as windell's, they have actual snow not remnants of snow left over and pushed together. with that said their skatepark, carpet, and foam pit setups are fucking awesome. and it doesn't smell bad.

anyways....go to fucking china dude. id rather do that than ski for a week. think about it, you ski all the time in the winter, however you really only get a few chances in a lifetime to visit another country.

yeah- most Americans will never leave the United States and if they do it to Mexico or the Caribbean

which is good because other countries blow anyway

this is true. my friend went with a tour group there this summer, but i think you have to be chinese.

def go to china. if you can, check out most of the big cities like shanghai and end at beijing because there is a indoor park there.

and go raid the jiberish factory

I've been to china, definitely a life changing experience. I will never forget it. That being said, I've been to windells, and I found momentum better ;). Thats just my 2 cents. Oh and I paid for both ski camps before everyone attacks me for being 'wealthy'.

You should go to China, unquestionably.

I have travelled around Southeast Asia the past few years, and it is an incredibly place. No pictures, literature of films can do it justice because the culture, the scenary and the people are just mindblowing. You will never forget it, but you will regret not going later in your life. Seriously.. take the chance.

It's an eyeopening experience - everyone should know how it feels to be a racial minority at some point.

This is why US citizens are blind to how screwed up their country can be (not all parts just some) and how much better other countries are (again only in some ways). Fucking ignorant. Not even open to the idea of seeing new places and exploring different global possibilities.

Dude, Go to China. and do it with as few people as possible. Meet new people, network, and get to know the culture. Who knows something might come of it. I know skiing is awesome and I personally would love a chance to go to Windells or COC, but you will learn to appreciate other cultures and your own country more if you decide to go to China.

I went to peru last summer and it was absolutely incredible i would take that over skiing in the summer anytime. Admittedly i did watch Kratom life numerous times a day when i could, while i was out there but it just makes you appreciate skiing even more. John Ware and Dale Talkington's seg are crazy.

im gonna go to china

i have been speaking/writing mandarin for about a year and a half now and i think it will help my language skills a bunch. windells will be there next year, unless ski patrol blows it up.

sarcasm or just stupidity? the usa does have everything, i might be road tripping for a few months this summer threw the county to check out the national parks, but it lacks culture in my opinion -ALOT of it
