is this mountaim sick for whoevers been there? dope park? cool powder skiing? any resorts near by offering that stuff? food? price? thanks

My brother was in Chile this summer and went skiing. I'm not sure if he went there, but with the winter they've had you probably can't go wrong.

i'm from chile and i always ski in el colorado, we have the best park in chile and maybe in south america, this year we have a lot of snow so you won't regret coming here also next to el colorado there is la parva and valle nevado where you can find sick powder runs, also you can grab a bus to portillo.

Colorado has the best park and apres ski happy hour!!! but it's the one with the biggest crowds (companies field trips, etc), La parva and Valle Nevado (both really near with colorado) have way better snow, pow and off piste lines, and far prettier girls.

Portillo is near but about 2 hours and it's really good too.

Right now all of them have about 2mts and some heavy snow falls for this weekend.

Theres a little cantina/pool hall/restaurant called el colorado near my old school. All the meixcans hang out there waiting to pickup trucks to drive by so they can jump in them and get some work.

www.andesweb.com and www.casatours.com will be helpful as you plan your trip to South America. While a Chilean responded to this post saying El Colorado has the best park and while he/she is correct in that statement, please do not expect to find anything close to what North American resorts are offering. You go to Chile to ski pow and big-mountain lines or to build a sick gap over wind lips, not to ski their parks or pipes. You will be much better served by Snowpark in NZ if you want to go to the southern hemisphere to ski park.

^^that's true you can't compare our park with the ones in the us or europe because here we are just starting with all that stuff but you can have fun with what we have and it's getting bigger every year. the ski resorts are like an hour from santiago.

I'm returning from chile and believe me it was awesome the park at el colorado is descent but if its snow go do powder especially in La parva its sick.
