Chester, VT Cops

Yes, the town that if you blink you miss it (also known as the crime capital of the U.S.) has not 1, not 2, but 3 cops that drive around in Ford Expiditions. Why do I tell you this? Well these guys sole mission in life is to write speeding tickets. These guys are ALWAYS out. So if you're ever heading to Okemo, Killington, etc. Watch out for them! Go the speed limit in this area (the area of Chester is much bigger than just the town so just becasue you're out of the town does not mean your safe; espeically stone village) If you get pulled over by these gastapo agents, don't say I didn't tell you so, it just kills me to see them harrasing skiers. I could go on for a long time about these motherfuckers, but I'll stop. (P.S. when you go to Killington, go slow through plymouth)
 
yea, i know exactly where you're talkin about. I think theres a gas station with really high prices too that the cops always chill in and wait for people speeding.
 
I live like 2 min from chester and have to drive through there everyday, so that's why I'm letting everyone know.

Knock on wood, I've yet to be pulled over
 
In my town in VT, I was talking to one of the local cops, and he said that it's illegal to have quotas, but they have "goals." So it is true that at the end of the month they go crazy with them.

A few months ago it was a slow night, and the cops in town decided to give parking tickets for like the first time ever. Well, it got around that they were just trying to meet their "goal," and the mayor had to forgive all the tickets, lol.

oh... and I have friends in chester and Ive never had a problem witht he cops while crusin through town... avoiding trouble with the law is really quite easy... follow their rules and your good to go
 
Harassing skiers? Are you serious? You speed, you break the law, they pull you over. Cops don't go, 'OH another car with skis! lets give them a ticket for doing nothing!'
 
yess...they are definitely strict around there. I got pulled over in putney, which is the town before chester going 65 in the 50. This was last year when i still only had my permit, which i didn't have on me at the time when i got pulled over. Luckily, the lady cop let me away with only a warning, and only made me switch drivers with my mom. This was nice of her b/c if she had given me a ticket i wouldnt have been able to get my liscense for a lonnnggg time.
 
Well, they NEVER give out parking tickets, and it was only on the slow Friday night that they did.

So, they were warranted, but because of the circumstances and outcry, they were dismissed. I dunno, now that I'm writing it out, I feel like I might be missing part of the story.

you completly missed the point. I wasn't saying they only look for skiers, but the majority of people that get pulled over are skiers because Chester is a town in which you have to go through to get to Killington or Okemo.

On a side note, is it really necessay for tax payers to support 3, 06 FORD EXPEDITIONS for the cops to drive around in? For Chester, VT there is not a need for 3 cops for the sole purpose of writing tickets
 
It's their job, why not get them good, comfortable cars? I didn't miss the point, you did a terrible job explaining your 'point'.
 
my point was to aware people on this site driving through there, seemed pretty obvious to me.

And maybe if you were a tax payer (not saying I am) and you lived in a town where they are using their money to pay for 3 ford expiditions and unlimited gas money (at $2.70 a gallon) just to write speeding tickets, maybe then you'd be pissed too.
 
from 89 into sunapee is also tough cause it drops from 50 to 35 and theres always a cop. Normaly ill count 5 or 6 cars (mostly mass) who have been pulled over on the way up
