So... when people kill themselves... the President is responsible? I see. At any rate, I can't say for sure (nor can you, unless you'd like to post a photo of your psychology degree), but it seems to me that such a statistic is either a non-political occurrance (and has more to do with whatever social trends might be prevalent), or simply because they're busy dying for other pointless reasons. It's hard to entertain thoughts of suicide when in combat.

if the president cuts the funding of the troops (im not talking about equipment, but the soilders paychecks) so they cant pay their bills, and theyre on food stamps (12000 elisted were). and they cant possibly pay their bills or provide for their families they might resort to suicide (it happens all the time)

pres. clinton changed the culture of the military when he shouldnt have. soilders have their own way of life, that us civilians cant fully understand. when something changes that lifestyle for the worse, and for no reason other than 'fairness', the soilders world is destroyed and they see no reason to live.

well, have you ev er read the constitution. in the clause of impeachment it says the president can be impeached for 'highcrimes and misdemeanors'.

John Kerry's dream is that this election comes down to issues. The Bush campaign scares the people into voting for the supposed 'strong and decisive leader,' and Bush gets a pass on EVERY OTHER ISSUE. The American people side with Kerry on just about every issue except a) strong and decisive leader and b)terrorism. There's a reason Kerry has asked for a debate every week. Once you get past the macho posturing and wild west talk from bush and cheney, the American people will side with Kerry on health care, education, the environment, taxes, diplomacy, abortion, gun control, energy policy, and just about any other issue you can think up. Well, if that is his dream maybe his should live it, he didn't even need to bring up his record in the first place, but low and behold he based his whole fucking campaign on it. He wanted his campaign to be a 'Vote for the war hero and am I not Bush' one, but that back fired. He had his chance and he shot himself in the foot. Sure we could go to issues, but for every stance he takes up the Republicans can show many instances where he voted against it. So Kerry has dug himself in a hole, and his only way out is to change his war stance and try to take a grasp on to some voters through debates. But issues, he had his chance and he did not take it.

I know there are pro-lifers out there; I'm pretty sure there is a pro-choice majority, but I don't have any poll numbers in front of me. John Kerry has been a hunter his whole life, but as he said, he's never seen the need for an atomatic weapon to shoot a deer. Bush wants to have his cake and eat it too, saying he supports the assault weapons ban, and then quietly watching expire, delighting the NRA. There is a majority who support tougher gun laws, not weaker. There is a vast majority who support tougher environmental laws, not weaker. There is a majority to who would rather have a balanced budget than tax cuts. John Kerry has bush beat on the issues, but unfortunately, this election is about one issue, the 'war on terror,' and bush will win or lose based on that and all its ins and outs and what have yous.

I'd love to have a beer with either candidate, so I can have their ears for a few minutes. But considering the efforts Bush's team goes to distance the president from any dissenting opinion, I don't see that happening. And no, I wouldn't smoke a joint with either of them

if shit gonna happen, its gonna happen. doesnt matter wether it is Bush or Kerry, that makes no difference in terms of a terrorist attack. they would both continue the iraq war after becoming elected. the war on terror is retarded, it's like the war on drugs etc. it's never ending you'll never be able to stop all terror, and living in fear is exactly what the terrorists want to happen. I think we all need to relax and let things go back to how they were before 9-11. It was a tradgety no doubt, but sitting there worried when the next attack is going to be, where it's going to be, not really having any good percise information on what will happen is just adding too much stress and anxiaty to the world. saying i don't know where i don't know when but something bad is going to happen really isn't much of a security to me. I'd rather spend money from homeland security on things that will make living actualy better. There are MUCH better things in the country to be concerned about that will effect our lives a lot more if we were to improve them, than spending time on stoping 'the terrorists.' I don't know how manny of you like wondering who the next attacker will be but i'd much rather spend time relaxed and being human with other people.

the 'war on terrorism' has been going on for years before this. i think the only reason the 'war on terrorism' is such a big issue is because of the presidetial election. in the coming years, thing will start to wind down. it wont end, but it will be put out of the public eye

actually many mid east counties dont hate us for our trade, in fact they would like us to leave them alone entirely. what they hate is our culture, our movie and porn industry, and our clothing. it changes their culture in a way they despise, they want to be free of western influence (including any type of trade, even free trade). if we left them to rot in their own little trash dump of a world, they wouldnt be happier. but we DO need the oil. so until we either tap alaska, and make hybrids or electric vehicles that are efficient, we'll continue to stay in the mid east
